conspiracy theory question for game 4

i have many hockey buddies that are money conpirists when it comes to sports.

they were correct with telling me kc would win the sb because of the taylor swift effect.

to me kc was not even the 5th best team during the reg season, but my buds were right

jersey sales when taylor swift donned kelce's uniform produced revenue of his jersey only to the tune of 334. million $ in sales

now with kc winning they have a new women's market watching football next year.

so now my buds are telling me - imagine the revenue fla will get at ticket sales and concession stand sales

plus a chance to carry the cup in florida. 

so my buds think just like the celtics did they lay down for this one.

my retort was in usa hockey is not big business. texas high school football would generate more revenue than some nhl games.

fla could beat these injured tired and beaten oilers today if they wanted to

so the question to the board is. do they lay down tonight like the celtics did to lift the trophy at home?

NHL is different beast than NBA. NBA has massive global reach where the NHL is US/Canada. The Panthers hoist the cup tonight.

most of the country are not oiler fans. canucks and flames fan absolutely despise the oilers esp the way they were diving their way to the finals.

most of canada wants their own team to kill the 30 yr canada drought.

mtl fans are too passionate about their team they would never cheer on ne other team

toronto fans are now watching the jays play and very poorly to my delight. i hate all toronto teams personally because of their

dominance of the sports tv stations we get.

I’d guess about 0% of these guys care to win the cup in south Florida. Hell the majority of the team probably feel more at home north of the border. 

I was thinking how fun that long plane ride would be taking the cup with them haha.

No matter where they win they’re gonna party their asses off for days with the fans in FL. 

Comes down to the same thing. Bob vs Skinner. Floridas depth and physicality vs edmontons one line show. To me the panthers get harder to play against with each game that passes & it’s surprising that the oilers are favored once again. They’re the worst cup final team we’ve had in 20 years (all due respect to their top line which is elite elite)

 Yup on oilers now but was on panthers this morning. Game 3 was 90% on oilers from morning to start. We shall see

 Oilers definitely aren't a one line show, and you saying that makes me think you've never watched them. I def think Florida may win tonight, based solely on Bobrovsky being an absolute beast, and Skinner being a bit of a mental midget, but the Oilers have the best offense in hockey.

 honestly i think there are injuries to edm most notably  imo to draisaitl they do have one line maybe 1.5 lines cuz nugent hopkins stepped it up. however they certainly do not have 3 good lines 

but u didnt mention the d. ceci and nurse are the worst pairings in the league

Does Edmonton want to take another 6 hour flight down and 6 hour flight back or just get the tee times now? That is the question.

Hmm in Sweden i know for sure NHL is more popular. Same goes for rest of Scandinavian countries. Wouldn't suprise me if Russia, Schweiz, Czech was the same.

 Draisaitl is on their second line, which immediately puts an end to them only having one good line. They have 2 great lines, and theur third line is great for a third line. They have Kane, Foegele, even Holloway can get it done. Connor Brown is decent. Sure Ceci isn't great, Nurse is OK though.

Nurse Kane are hurt Connor and Leon has played half of the games in every playoffs how can they sustain the same level of play if they are tired

Oilers D are crap also Skinner is an average goalie . Oilers 3rd line is useless the offensive comes from 2-3 players imo PANTHERS wins tonight they flew in the family of the Panthers just in case they win tonight. Imo Florida  wins but who knows what these players wants or the refs.

Also, the Celtics routinely lose miserably at least once per series. It’s usually Game 2.

Oilers have the greatest offensive duo/trio in decades. Think Jordan/Pippen or Bryant/O’Neal or Curry/Thompson. In fact, peak Curry/Thompson is prob most accurate.

So the Oilers have a chance to win any and every game. That being said they have defensive flaws. I (and many others) expected at least a 5-6 game series for these reasons.

Keep in mind that NHL has the greatest home arena advantage of any major sport, NBA is second.

 lol that is not a good take. They have the best PP no doubt. A very good offensive team overall bc of their top guys and PP. 

defense is ass. Goaltending ass. Bottom 6 is ass. And the coach should be in juniors
