if you are on florida all i can say is you BETTER HOPE they score first. usually im not to big into that but human nature will take over after three straight loses and they will chase the game and get away from their game. and we all know what that means. odd man rushes galore. speed kills kids. oilers should ve won game 1. bob stole that one. its tough dealing with the speed in the regular season let alone in a 7 game series at the end of a grueling playoff season. ill be shocked if florida pulls this off.

"There's another thing I heard about prior to Game 6 that I dismissed without much thought, and I paid for that. Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner went 4-8 in these playoffs in Games 1-3. But in Games 4-7, he was a perfect 9-0, and after another excellent performance last night he is now 10-0. Anyone wanna get in the way of that on Monday night? I don't!?
Are you fading your self by taking Florida tonight?

you sound like the typical sheepish punter that got slaughtered by the bookies... chasing the panthers in game 5&6 and then finally switching to oilers in game 7 and got slaughtered

From now on let us never forget that under 5.5 in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup Final is a free money bet. That’s fifteen in a row dating back to the early 1950s.

Sergei Bobrovsky is completely off the hook. He saved his reputation tonight. They all did. For the Panthers, avoiding becoming memes for all-time as chokers and losers was actually MORE important than winning the Stanley Cup!

Losing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final has to be the most wrenching experience in sports. I submit that it’s significantly more excruciating than being on the losing side of a Super Bowl.
These hockey players grow up daydreaming about one day being on a Stanley Cup winning team. It’s hard enough to even make it to the NHL, but then to be fortunate enough to be on a great team that survives three rounds of playoffs over two months, and then wins three times in the final round…..only to fall short in the last…possible…game…of the NHL season.
My God. The players retreat to the locker room to cry and reflect and absorb the pain, and all the while they know that their opponent is still on the ice about to fulfill their lifelong dream.

In this Prospect who goes by the name Solarwind, we have ourselves a Covers Nitwit of the Year Award nominee. First he mistakenly assumed that what I wrote on the first page two days ago indicated that I was betting on the Oilers in Game 7. Wrong. Then he claimed I lost betting on the Panthers in Games 5 and 6. Wrong. I never posted anything about Game 5, but as it is, I had the Oilers +150 that night. But he threw in Game 5 to try and make me look worse in your mind and also in his own, because Solarwind is a bitter young man who can't find success in his life, so he lashes out at others. And finally, he disgraced himself by bashing me for having the Oilers in Game 7, revealing that he was too lazy and intellectually bankrupt to read today's posts to see what, if anything, I had bet, and in doing so he missed post #53.
Slow clap for Solarwind.
(no....slower than that)

I don't think it matters but the Oil are 0-5 after their last 3 game win streaks. 3 of them in playoffs but 2 were Game 1s after a long rest. Could the Panthers be running out of gas playing an extra month of hockey last year than the Oil? I do not get the Panthers slow starts this series. I think the Oil have dominated the 1st period in the series. Scoring periods like rounds in boxing I'd score Game 6 10-7 Oil in 1st, 10-8 Oil in 2nd and 9-10 Panthers in 3rd. Was shocked to see how much better the Oil looked in 1st 2 periods last game. But yet it was just 2 mistakes and centimeters away from a Panthers win. The turnover in 1st and the botched line change in 2nd both led to goals scored off the rush.
It was this post by Stress that helped me let go of the feeling that the Oilers were going to continue their winning streak. When I first read the opening sentence of his post, I was like "Huh? What?", but then I looked at the Oilers schedule and found that indeed they had already had three 3-game winning streaks in these playoffs, and all three of them got snapped. Looking further back into the regular season, the Oilers had two 3-game winning streaks within the final month of play, and coincidentally had both of those short streaks snapped by 3-2 losses in overtime.
Now you might think that all these streaks don't matter one bit when it comes to figuring out who was going to win Game 7, but at the very least this information posted by Stress allowed me to feel that the Oilers' failure to win four games in a row over their last 5 attempts to do so cancelled out their propensity to go on long winning streaks after losing 3 games in a row (which is what I documented in the beginning of this thread).
Thank you for posting, Stress.
