The Vegas disappearing act

Call it a comedy show, call it a magic act, call it whatever you want...right down to the ridiculous burlesque-on-ice with swords at the beginning of every game, Vegas is a joke!  The greatest magic trick of all-time...the Knights have disappeared.

So this is the narrative we're supposed to believe here...the Vegas Golden Knights, Golden showers, Golden misf.ucks, with not even 50% of the "talent" of established contending teams, blast through the regular season with this supposedly almost revolutionary transition game that nobody in the league can handle.  Then they waltz through 3 rounds of playoffs losing only 3 games total to two of the most tried and true contending teams in LA and SJ, and what was probably the most dangerous team in the west in Winnipeg (who also had home ice, and was virtually unbeatable at home all year)...

And now you're telling me that all of a sudden the team that has the secret sauce to beat Vegas is the perennial playoff choking Washington Capitals.  A team that Vegas beat both times in the regular season, outshooting them both times, and with home ice for the series???  Also with a goalie in Fleury who is very comfortable in net vs. Washington, remembering it was him in net for Pittsburgh last year when they beat them and not Matt Murray.  And now you're telling me they can barely muster 20 shots on net!?

I don't buy it...but then again I've never bought it all year long.  Vegas is a joke, they're bums who have had their hand held by the league all season until now.  The NHL said we'll take them to the finals but then they have to be on their own.  What a joke, disappearing act of the century...good riddance losers.

You really uncovered a real mystery here. I really cant think of another time in sports history a team that made the finals went down 2-1

Yeah because we all know only the score matters.  That's great insight yourself...only the score matters, not how it transpired or any of the process that arrived at that score.  

You sound like a guy who just looks at the boxscores and thinks he knows more about how the game played out than someone who actually watched the game...

OP BRILLIANTLY analyzed the VGK/Winnie series.  It's whyan_laugh Winnipeg is playing Washington for the Ugly Cup.

Yes the bigger the bandwagon the more you must know about hockey...I feel so put in my place by a 1st year fanboy that has probably never even held a hockey stick.  Enjoy it while it lasts.  The fix was in all year, a branding and marketing scam by the NHL so they could have people lining up to buy a Seattle franchise to even up the 2 conferences at 16 teams.

Vegas clown show about to be over with only quarter-capacity crowds to look forward to in the future now that the wheels of the bandwagon have fallen off.

Wow, really?  Ok, then you're right - I take everything back.  Though I have held a hockey stick, the fact that you would use this as your logic is so confounding and amazingly logical and sensible, you MUST be right!!  

 

And in addition to being so smart and savvy about a hockey stick translating into having authority.....you're ALSO obviously a "New Math" major!  The kind of Math is also amazing, thank you so much.  You're teaching me that 25% (one-quarter) of 18,600 (T-Mobile Arena's approximate seating capacity) equals 16,700 (the season ticket renewals for 2018/2019 for VGK.

To think the League would influence all this and then have the the whole team just lay down shows you should call family members for assisted living, bro...

What is true is they ran into a team that countered as fast as they punched, is highly motivated and blocked 26 shots game 3, not letting up like your boys did for stretches...they may have emotionally ran out of gas too

Hahahahah how you like that irish?  This is the real Golden Knights team when the league takes off the training wheels.  They look like a pee-wee squad out there...what a bunch of bums and cowards.  Half these players will be playing in the Swiss B-league or equivalent where they belong in 3 years tops.

Not only can they not win a game anymore, they can't even make it a good one.  Looks good on them.

I won’t be an absolute d@ck the way you were a while back but to think that this “journey” Vegas has taken is all legit with no push from the league? Really? You truly believe that? You say they have emotionally run out of gas? “Bro....”, this is the cup playoffs. A two month ride that is tougher than any other ride in sports. If any team is emotionally spent it’s not the “new circus show” in Vegas, it’s the team that has paid their dues year after year with the best player ever to not win a cup. We’ll see what this Vegas team is made of when the training wheels come off and daddy (the nhl) isn’t pushing from behind. I think we’re alreasy seeing it but hey, maybe participation trophies will be handed out as a nice touching token of effort. If Vegas wins the cup, great story, if they don’t, I think Philly beating Brady in the super bowl with a backup qb is the story of the year.

I agree this Vegas team is night and day all of sudden. From making the toughest shots to missing wide open nets?

Team has milked the city and casuals as much as they can now its sink or swim and were seeing the real Vegas team we all thought they would be.
