It looks like basically the whole team has covid and some with the worst variant out there being the one from Brazil. I am hearing some of the players are very ill at this point and just hope and pray for them and their families. There is talk that they might not play another game this year? Not sure how the NHL will handle this if it happens but talks are ongoing. It blows my mind that so many still think this is a conspiracy. These are athletes that are in great shape and it's knocking the shitttt out of them. The ICU at the hospital I work at is full of patients on ventilators struggling for their lives. I just wish this crap would go away already.

 Get outa the house, stop watching CNN, they will play again!!  Geez   Im a fireman in Florida, Hospitals are always full here,  people are always on ventilators.  Funny, they just reported the first flu case right!!!   But its funny, the funeral homes are not overwhelmed, no large grave sites or refrigeration trailers parked anywhere.  Just my food for thought!!

Quickest way to go insane is to get hooked on cable news, liberal and conservative alike. It’s all toxic.

What does 3,500 people dying a day from car accidents have to do with an entire sports team being wiped out from a disease that has proven to be pretty deadly along with life long medical conditions for those who have had it?

 has everything to do with it, 3500 people daily, (way more then Covid) if the cost of life was so important, traffic laws, fast cars,  you know like wearing a mask, or staying 6 feet apart!!

I still can't believe how naive people are towards covid. This is not just a flu. Maybe now that the younger population is becoming more infected people will get their head out of their a$$ and smell the coffee. If you seen an actual patient hooked up to a ventilator you might see the light.The US has more people vaccinated than Canada so Florida is Florida. My 2 cents.

How many of those are alcohol, distracted driving or just human error related? This is affecting innocent people. My friend caught it last year and used to walk 5k a day now she can't walk more than 20 steps without being out of breath. Another has no taste back after over a year. 

Again I just hope and pray for the players and families of the Vancouver Canucks because this Brazilian variant has proven to be very harsh.

Thehuntsman and bold27 are right.  Americans downplaying severity of pandemic is one of the reasons why US has the most covid cases and deaths of any nation in the world.    According to Worlddometer, US has 31+ million cases and 568+ thousand deaths.  In comparison, Canada has 1 million cases and 33+ thousand deaths.  US has roughly 10 times the population of Canada.  Despite US doing better in vaccinating its population,  total cases and deaths are relatively worse.

Hey dubz she is 54 years old. An ICU nurse with a year to go before retirement just trying to save peoples lives. They figure they didn't have the proper PPE at the beginning of this and she caught it. Not only did covid affect her breathing it has done a number on her frame of mind going forward with regards to her retirement. They have no clue if she will ever be close to 100% again. That is unfortunately what people don't understand, it doesn't have to kill to affect people unlike a common flu. It can really hurt your lungs and it can happen to anyone who catches it. I have seen it first hand.

The other dude with no taste, imagine not being able able to taste a nice steak anymore or anything else you eat or drink.

 It's not deadly for everyone, I know of only 5 people personally that had it in my life and they were ill for a couple od days and thn were and are perfectly fine and an 83 year old former cancer survivor, ( as I am myself now) lady down the street got it and was sick for a week and did not even need hospitalization and is completely fine after beating it easily. Millions of people have gotten covid and not even known they had it MILLIONS. I was a respiratory tech in Toronto as you may or may not know and putting people on ventilators is a massive cash business and I went into every hospital in Toronto weekly and they were ALWAYS overwhelmed with full ICU's and the hallways full with people in beds that they had no rooms for. Yes it's a virus, it's a real thing, the numbers are also grossly inflated, people committing suicide are actually being counted as covid fatalities  which is fukking disgusting. Anyone that is not able to comprehend that this was created in that Wuhan Lab and purposely shipped all over the world as a massive political tool must be at this point considered cognitively unavailable. And masks do absolutely fukk all by the way. Strapping masks onto the faces of littlre children is straight child abuse, and anyone ok with that is hollow skulled. People wearing masks in a contaminated environment, touching them and reusing them are actually helping to spread contamination not slow it down. A cashier in home depot can see 300 strangers up close doing transactions but a salon owner can't see 6 people in a day that they know personally?? The illogical examples are abundant. Texas is wide open and have the lowest case count and fatalities they have had since this all started that is a fact which speaks volumes to anyone with common sense. Sweden is in great shape and no collapsed economy and no suicides, no mental health issues from this, no kids left behind in academics, no rise in drug overdoses. They don't want to talk about any of that though. Shut your garbage news off which is not news it is 100% political propaganda. We are full on living in a deep state, you don't get the news dude, you are being fed crap. Stay off social media, don't watch the propaganda on your news and go enjoy your life the best you can under communism. 

I work in a hospital and have lots of friends who work in different ones around the Toronto area who have seen it first hand. The ICU'S around here are jammed pack with patients on ventilators with covid. ICU's have always been busy in my 25 years in the medical industry but this last year has been beyond crazy. These variants are hitting a younger age group as well. We have a 45 year old who came in last week and I really doubt he will still be with us when I return to work on Tuesday. He was 100% healthy two weeks ago.

 Thanks Gus, finally someone.   TheHunt, sorry for your friend!   Cancer has been around for how long, not even a chance of figuring it out, ( but a tobacco product that causes cancer has, ohh yeaH, big brother making loads of money off of it, can ban that either).  but a vaccine for covid in how long, oh yea, even if you get the vaccine, you still have a change of getting the virus, what?   The flu has killed how many every years, but people have a choice to get vaccinated?  you don't have to wear a mask, come on man!!  If your 65-90, poor health and get the flu, or pneumonia, you have a poor outcome!  but no mask mandate right?  How many years have you been alive, that's right, its been around before you!!  I could go on man.  you talk about seeing someone on a ventilator, guess what, being a fireman/paramedic, I get to put that so called endotracheal tube down that so called trachea!!

All these comments are your opinion which you are entitled too. Not sure I am hollow skulled when I send my 10 year old beautiful, happy and healthy son to school with a mask on but again that's your opinion. So you believe that Texas has had the lowest case count and fatalities since wearing no masks? Where did you read that? I heard from a friend who lives there they have had close to 50,000 covid deaths in a year and I didn't watch the news to catch that one. He lives in Dallas and says it has been very scary times down there.

I didn’t buy it in 2020 April and after 12 months of data globally it confirms it...media can shock n awe and create any narrative to enhance your senses but at some point you gotta see through it...at this point you either see it or you don’t

also read that in the states hospitals have a slight incentive to record a death as a covid death, which could skew numbers

that they got paid more by insurance if it was a covid-related death.

may have depended if the person went on the ventilator...read the article like 8-9 months ago now

and also read that pneumonia deaths are down by a massive number, maybe someone on here has info on that
