Tuesday Canada -6 vs Norway, -109 Canada/Norway Over 8, +104 Russian Federation -4 vs Latvia, -120 Russian Federation/Latvia Over 7, -105
Wednesday Sweden -3.5 vs Germany, -110
I suspect that Canada, Russia and Sweden will be the three medal winners. I also suspect all three teams will be out to prove something in their respective first games.
As always, GL to everyone.

Weebs, all your picks look good, except Canada -6. I have to take the huge spread with Norway. Canada will win, but this will not be a blowout, which this line suggests. Canada always starts these Olympic tournaments off slowly, I remember in Turin, they had a harder than expected opening game against Italy, which was a team full of scrubs. They failed to cover that spread. The Norwegian team, while no where near as talented as our boys have been practicing and playing together for a while now, and have developed chemistry, something that Canada will lack in the first game. Also, I wouldn't be shocked to see Norway pot a couple goals, especially with the way Fleury, Brodeur and Luongo have been playing lately, which has been less than stellar. And remember: This is like USA basketball at the olympics, where the spreads were inflated by the books KNOWING they were going to get plenty of action just because of the team. I just have to take the goals in this matchup. I'm thinking this will be a 6-1 or 6-2 hockey game, with Canada winning but not covering that spread.

Yeah...I recall that game against Italy. But I wonder if the Italians were inspired by the games being in Turin. Games are in Canada now, and I'm hoping that a little bit of extra inspiration makes the difference between a 6-2 game and an 9-2 game. I just have that feeling that this team is gonna go out there with something to prove. BOL
