I know that in MLB, the one-run games are only 30%; 70% of the games finish with more than one-run margins. I strongly doubt that the % of two-score+ win margin games in NHL are as high as in baseball, so my guess that such two-plus-score games in a whole season would be in the 50% range somewhere.

It's all about what one is comfortable with. I bet 1 unit on almost all of my picks so that would be a recommended start. But only each bettor knows how much he/she can afford to lose on a each bet. Remember, it's not how much you'd like to win. It's how much you're comfortable with losing if you lose all of your bets on a given day.

I like your first period play on NJD. The Kings may be a little rusty after the trip back from Europe followed by 5 days off. Although I like the Kings for the game.
