what exactly is Andrew McDonald's purpose in this side ?

why are Australia's selectors STILL obsessed with forcing an all-rounder ? FFS we don't have an Andrew Flintoff. 

Australia's success through the 90's and 00's was built on picking the best six batsmen and the best four bowlers in the country.  

Might be worth re-visiting that formula

I have no fucking idea why McDonald is in the side. None whatsoever. Why not play Bollinger if they wanted another bowler?

Too many hangers-on in Australian cricket these days. Let the captain run the side. Let him pick the side he wants, or at least have considerable weight in the selection process.

Don't force the captain to 'rest' and the rush him back when the side is 2-nil down in a best of 5. If the captain says 'I don't want to have a fucking rest', then that should be final.

Don't cling to some pathetic ideal of needing an all-rounder. We didn't become the best cricket nation in the world on the back of an all rounder.

The selectors should all be sacked, along with the NSW origin selectors

we sure have mate, yet here we are a few weeks later asking the same old questions ?!  I mean in all seriously, what do the selectors honestly believe they're going to get out of a guy bowling dibla-dobla medium trundle and batting at number eight ?

that sends a message that the selectors are clearly in no mans land at the moment. With Haddin looking the part in Gilchrist's old number seven spot, positions 8 to 11 should be chock-full of bowlers, the best four in Australia according to conditions.

I reckon you can all but rule the draw out of the equation tonight. This game will be won or lost. Australia has no containing bowler ala a Shane Warne. Looks like it'll come down a to a foot-race between Australia snaring these eight wickets and SA reeling off the runs. 

The only way a draw is possible if Australia pick up a couple of quick wickets in the first session. I think if that happens the Saffers will shut up shop and try and occupy the crease.

I just don't see this current bowling attack getting 8 wickets based on what I saw yesterday.
