No lines but I'm guessing it would be Blaze -3
I like the blaze to win this one, not sure if they cover the 3, but ref's have been helping Cairns in the 1H.

Best NBL I've watched yet.

I do not think the Gold Coast Blaze can beat Perth.
There has been a ton of occasions tonight where players opt to not get a hand in the shooters face in order to gather better position for the possible rebound.

This will get them roasted against Perth.

Sorry but I don't know why you keep going on about the PG for Hawks I have seen him play a few times now and he isn't even in the top 3 PG's in the league. He is only good for assists.

I agree with you. An assist is good as a score, is it not? (Rajon Rondo, anyone?)

In fact, this offense does not work well with him at all. He is the type of PG who needs the ball in his hands to be able to create for his teammates and make them better. His coach needs to allow him to make mistakes in order for him to find out what does and doesn't work in this league. Quick decisions are KEY in this league and it appears Showron is taking some time to adjust to the quickness.  

He gets himself in to bad spots continuously where he is trying to do too much.

I'm still waiting for a breakout game from him where he looks to score offensively, and more importantly, makes the correct pass. He seems quite content in their offense, almost as if he is looking to not piss off his coach and to stay within the offence. At times he is able to attacks the hoop hard but looks more for the foul than he does the bucket. 

I've played with Showron, and against Showron. I've watched many of his university games that were played up here in Canada. He is a hell of a player. I believe he has the skill set to be a top 3 PG in the league but he is on a bit of a short leash.

Please remember that he has only played a handful of games in the league. 

He trains hard, and I expect him to come into this game with renewed strength as the time off will have given him time to recover and get his shot back in form. He is truly a deadly shooter, just as most players in this league are. Last game he seemed tentative from behind the arc. But tonight I believe he will have some more confidence in his shot. 

I do understand where your coming from you Crazy Frenchman. I have watched each of his games as a Hawk and there have been bright spots. But along with those bright spots there has been a lot of poor decisions on his part.

In the end, Showron is a point guard with great scoring prowess and the quickness to be effective on the defensive end. It's a matter of his mental game catching up to speed.

With a few more weeks of practice under his belt one would think that he is a bit more comfortable on both mentally and physically.

Last game the Hawks were embarassed. They had an injury during practice to a key player.

 The Hawks SHOW up tonight and hopefully SHOW goes off.

Side note: Show is good for more than assists my friend, he is good for marketing as well. 

Too bad marketing doesn't win games!

But tonight, Hawks win.

I'll be placing a wager on them pre-game in about 2 hours time from this exact post.

Sydney on a nice little ATS streak going 2-0 last week, both on backdoor covers.


That big black dude they toss alley oops to all the time is a nice addition.

He is the most athletic big guy I have seen in the NBL. You couple him with Khazzou and you have some potent inside bigs. 
Not sure how Cairns plans on stopping them, but this could be Sydney in a ROMP.

I'll be up for both games -- not locking anything in until 5-10 minutes pre-game.

Thanks for input CoverLane. Really not liking the line and was going to lay off. I actually think Sydney is the right play here but like all games in round 9 has been going this cld go either way. Really like Perth though.
