Olympic Curling 2010

Sorry for not posting last night, had a little one under the weather.

There was one game I played yesterday that I meant to post and didn't. It should hvae been a loser as Great Britain was laying a beat down on Russia and I had the over. For some strange reason the Russia skip decided to keep playing and ended up losing 10-3 for the over to hit. Sort of makes you wonder if she had some juice on the game.

Totals including the game I forgot to post is 28-19 +20.56 units.

For the ladies this morning, the fact they have hung some 11.5 totals have made me overlook my morning draw under bias. Here we go.

Germ/ G.B over 11.5 2 units to win 2.2

GB to win 2.6 units to win 2.

China/Denmark over 11.5  4 units to win 3

Hoping USA gets out of their funk today.

USA vs Rus 2.2 units to win 2 and at -1.5 1 unit to win 1.36.

USA/Rus over 12.5 1.7 units to win 1.5

Will be back for the Men's draw later. They have hung some 11.5 totals there which I will certainly make me think twice on some of the unders. Good luck.

These games often see a tonne of line movement. Last night, Great Britain -1.5 went from -179 to -210 in the span of one minute right before game time.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to question him. He's having a great week regardless of that play.

Ang, I thought I might take some heat for it, but I did play it and the reason I am including it, is just for my own sake at the end of the tourney I have my total to know where I stand. Again, by all rights it should have been a loss.

We had a good morning going 6-2 and grabbing another 7.18 units. States winning by two was big for us. I also consider myself fortunate on the China over. I watched up until the 5th end and knew a 6-1 score had the makings of an early quit hurting our over. I feel very fortunate we grabbed a 5 spot in 6, to hit the over. As we all know you need those breaks once in awhile.

I was quite prepared to take the States team this afternoon, but now I understand they have sent their skip packing to the sidelines. Unless he did something that was incredibly at odds with the rest of the team, I am surprised to no end you would put the guy on the bench, that was responsible for getting you there. As such, I think either the States will rally big or continue on the down side. I think there is a 60/40 chance the new guy does nothing for the team, so I will take the plus money for this one.

I jinxed myself, with my earlier comments. The luck we had in the late ends this morning, went the opposite this afternoon. The late France collapse, and more importantly the Swiss blowing their lead hurt. Such is life. Lost 1.57 this afternoon. Total now stands at 37-25 +26.17 units.

Well the 5 unit totals didn't treat us so well a couple of nights ago, but I am 5.4 units to win 5 on Chn/Swe tonight. 4 of the 5 games they have played against each other have been  over the total and I expect this to be a close game, so I am hitting this one hard. I also like the way Sweden is playing and since I can get them at +135, I putting 2 units on them to win 2.7

My next play is the Swiss. They have lost some close games and now haven't played in two nights. This is a must win and I see in the last game Russia has switched up their skip which is a desperation move. Plus Ott has owned her in head to head matches. Swiss -1.5 vs Rus 4.2 units to win 3.

Third big game for me is Japan. If our skip, can bring some shots, we might pull this out. Outside of the skipper for Great Britain the rest of the squad hasn't shown me much. I think this is a good value play. Japan +1.5 1.7 units to win 1.5 and also straight up  2 units to win 4.

Denmark was awful this morning. This team was in the top four in the world championships last year, but hasn't looked like it thus far. I will bite a little. Den vs Cda +1.5 1 unit to win 1.45.

Finally Swiss/ Rus under 12.5 2.1 to win 1.8 units and Japan/Gbr over 12.5, 1.8 units to win 2.  Can/Den under 12.5 1.1 units to win 1.

As a reminder my Japan bet may be a little biased on my hoping they make it to the medal round for my future. Still, I believe they have a good shot tonight. The one total I made that now I don't feel so confident on is the GBR/Japan one, but I cant take it back so, hopefully it comes in.

 In game bet, I was just able to grab Japan/GB under 12.5 1 unit for +175. It is 1-0 after two so I am at a loss, why these odds are so great, unless GB is laying a bunch of rocks in the house as I type this. Wanted to play this as i did not like the over bet I played at the beginning of the end.

Nice to see the Russian skip raise the Swiss in for Four in the opening end.

Well, I know look at my live bet, and see they have changed it to an obvious error, so my bet now reads 1.1 units to win .44. So much for my hedge. I thought it was too good to be true.

Wow, Denmark ducked a big end in the fourth. Japan with a field goal in the fourth that was big. We just need Swe/China to get some points going.

Swiss and Japan were big for us, my 5 star totals continue to suck. Still a good night.  44-28 +33.62 units.

I almost never lay this much juice but I am playing Sweden            -1.5, 6.8 units to win 4. I sometimes get worried about the let down game, but less so when they only have one game that day.

Lastly, it appears both States teams are gaining a little momentum while Muirhead's squad is regressing a little. I like McCormick here.  2 units to win 3.9 units and +1.5, 2 units to win 1.8 units.

Biggest play of the Olympics so far.

Can/GBR over 11.5, 7.6 units to win 7. MAde at myself, I saw it at +120 did two minutes of research and already it was bet down to   -108

I'm not a big France fan, but he has played Edin close twice, so for the price and the fact maybe Edin will have a little bit of a let down after the tough extra end loss to USA.

France/ Swe +1.5, 1 unit to win 1.1 and 1 unit straight up to win 3. Over 11.5 1.5 units to win 1.86.

Same theory, China has played Swiss tight previously, so worth the value. China +1.5, 1.15 units to win 1 and 1 unit straight up to win 1.95. Chn/Swiss under 11.5 1.5 units to win 1.55.

Lastly, I think Martin will be pumped tonight and hence why I see the over. I can see a 9-5 game final. Saying this Murdoch has beaten him the last three times, so I'd be an idiot not to put one unit on GBR to win 2.5.

Beamjim, when you post Can/GBR over 11.5, is that total points combined between the two teams in the entire game and if so, what book has this available? 

I see 5Dimes doesn't have any totals  (so far at least), just the odds to win the game. Maybe they will post the totals later unless somebody is already aware that they don't post them at all.

The only book I have ever seen curling totals at is Pinnacle.

Just got back. Was able to sneak the extra end of the U.S./GBR game over at the in-laws to see Muirheads rock run a little wide and give us big win, for the States. I should have listened to my instincts and never played the kind of juice on Sweden, but live and learn. I went 5-2, but only made 1.5 units because of the big price on Sweden.

4-3 GBR after five ends, which thus far is setting up for our big total. Murdoch, just made a nice draw to the button for one.

Yes, Ang is bang on, l have only seen totals at Pinny or Bet365 will have them for an in-game. Took advantage of that this afternoon getting the Denmark over 13 after the third end.

Toasty, if someone someone shakes early that is just part of the game and does not void the bet. It can be advantageous when you have an under in a game.

Back to the last five ends, in the Canada game,.

Finally a big total comes in. France helped us also, as I was way off base on the China game. At the conclusion of the day we sit at  54-39 +35.77 units.

There really is nothing more entertaining in the curling world than a Martin vs Murdoch match. Also, since Vernon Davis has shown up, the States teams haven't lost a match.
