With the way the format works where after the group stage it is a straight knock out competition, the winner is going to need A LOT OF ROSTOS (aka LUCK). Unlike the past where you had the super 8 stage where you could have a bad game and get away with it, it is not going to be the case this time around.
So rule a line on teams like New Zealand and West Indies. They can produce on their day but simply lack the quality to win 3 consecutive knock out games. Pakistan are mercurial but again it comes to consistency, they blow hot and cold so I am going to say they won't win either.
England's ODI performance have improved over the past couple of years but they simply have too many injuries at the moment. Now I read their best ODI batsman Morgan is out.
Bangaldesh are an interesting team. They won't win but their outright price provides decent leverage for trading IMO should they reach the QF stage which is very possible. For arguments sake lets say the top 3 teams in Group B will be India, Sth Africa and England. 4th spot will come down to the Bangers and Windies where I will be on the Bangers big time to turn them over. Bangladesh to at least make the QF's is my call
The world cup will come down to 4 teams IMO - India, Australia, Sth Africa and Sri Lanka. I've already stated why I like the Lankans, they have one of the balanced bowling lineups in the world in the Indian conditions and their batting is quality especially the top order. Bit of a question mark around their middle/lower order because they are going to stack them with all-rounders but at their current price worth a ping.
Sri Lanka to win @ 6.00 (2) Bangladesh to win @ 41 (0.25) Sri Lanka to make the final @ 3.00 (3) Bangladesh to be eliminated at QF stage @ 3.50 (2)
More futures to come later.

This world cup will come down to luck......I will tell u all why.
In India, the wickets are generally slow and dusty.....DURING THE DAY.....
At night, the grounds get drenched in dew........When there is dew, the ball gets wet, this then causes not only the ball difficult to grip but the ball then skids onto the bat, making the pitch essentially faster......
When u bat first, when the ball gets older, it is difficult to score runs as low slow dusty tracks get even slower.......
Then at night, the ball becomes hard to grip and the ball skids meaning it is much easier to score......
Therefore COIN TOSS = LUCK.....
Or what are cappers gona say? u can cap the coin toss?
DOES ANYONE DISAGREE?

Sorry you're right. Sri Lanka should win that group.
That's what it looks like. Most consistent all-around. But all it takes is a solid spark by Pakistan or Australia to change things. Wonder if the group betting is the way to go instead of betting to win the WC.

agree with your analysis Rod but only a sub continent team wins this, south africa wont like the surface, aussies are'nt good enough at this stage anymore, pakistan have lost half their team to betting scandals, english are knackered so that leaves the two hosts and Sri Lanka are value at the price,
there should be good opportunities to get some value on individual matches here, i fancy some outsiders to cause a few shocks at outrageous prices.

Hazy news filtering in from the arena. It appears all 15 players can be
used, with 11 batting and 11 fielding. So different mix can be used and
you can test everyone out.
India have won the toss and chosen to bat.
