Hey buddy!
Sorry I didn't get back right away. I actually ran out quickly after posting these. Went to the Michigan Craft Beerfest. 500 craft beers on tap. You woulda fainted. Hahaha. I was on a designated driver ticket though.
Felt like being a eunuch in a whorehouse.
Hahaha....
At any rate, favorite bourbon is hands-down Evan Williams. Very flavorful, not musky or charcoal-ly, a bit spicy, and smooth, very smooth. Cheap too. $13 a bottle here. Don't let the price fool you. It's America's (hence, the world's) oldest bourbon. Delicious.
Favorite Scotch is Jameson.
Bullett Rye Whisky is out-of-this-world if you can get it down in Oz. Smooth as shit, little to no burn, and all taste. Anyone who has tried it is blown over.
500 craft beers on tap, me gusta
Jamesons is an Irish whiskey you geographically challenged yankee doodle. I always preferred Bushmills Black. Irish whiskey is delicious for sipping but bourbon and dry is my fave mixed drink.
Ballantines is a pretty decent average priced Scotch, from Scotland
Yah I've had rye whiskey and beers, really like the sours but
I actually really like the smoky charcoaly aspect of Jack Daniels too, we do get Bulleit? down here. They used to have a double shot and cola premixer cans that were like 8%, very rich and syrupy almost cloying, the bottles aren't that common though, not that I really browse the liquor sections. I think I'm gonna lay off the whiskey again for awhile but if I ever see Bulleit Rye in a bar I shall try it in a sazerac.
My friend with the wine/beer store doesn't stock much bourbon, aside the bottle of makers I bought the other day reckons he hasn't sold any for 2 years! Aside beam, jack, turkey and makers he has this fancy Woodford Reserve, it's like $70aud a bottle though, too much for me. Only time I spend that much nowadays is for a sixer of mixed Trappist ales for my birthday.
Never heard of Evan Williams. Old Crow is a slightly cheaper bourbon that's pretty good, plus it was on Beavis and Butthead was my fave in my student days.
