Yeah Melbourne and Sydney are great cities but Sydney is just becoming ridiculous with house pricing and cost of living.
Yeah the overs last season were ridiculous. I will admit, watching the games this season compared to last, the shooting isn't as good and the players that left their teams (Lisch, Beal, Penney etc) haven't been as efficient as last season for their older clubs. Imports have been hit and miss as well but by far, Randle for the 36ers is the best player in the league and well done to them for recruiting him last season. After he plays in Oz, he goes to Europe and plays for a Turkish team. I personally think he could be a bench PG for a lower NBA team.

well yeah, thats basically what you pay as being a developed country compared to living in a developing country. I think Sydney is still ok compared to other developed countries though but yeah I heard its getting there.
On the downside , the gentlemen club over there are BS though hahah
actually i have been stalking your topic for quite sometime now but usually just play over when Ramanujan pointed out last year that the over were ridicolous which it did for quite sometime
Happy chinese new year guys. hope we win some red pocket later

Ok so once again, similar to last nights game but the other way this time + Newley missing for this game (possible return against NZ) and Beal now not playing for the Bullets.
Game 1 = 8th October. Total closed around 166.5
Newley and Beal had 17 points. The game hit just 150.
Game 2 = 30th October. Total dropped by the books to 164.5
Newley and Beal together scored 37 points.
Game hit 165.
Game 3 = 10th November. Total dropped to 162.5, game hit 159.
Beal and Newley combined scored 43.
Tonights total hovering around 162.5. Newley and Beal missing for this game is a massive loss for both teams as the NBL is unlike the NBA where a young guy from the NBA can step up for a missing player and score some points. The talent isn't there for most NBL sides especially the Bullets. Yes the Bullets put up 88 vs Melbourne on the back of Kickert scoring 24 and Craig 24 but I don't see both these guys scoring that much again. Will take the UNDER is a massive game for both teams in regards to their push for playoffs.
Congrats

Good luck to all. Adelaide look a good price in Illy but Sydney W looks the play of the day for me. Perth at home should do it as well after that Easy finish against Cairns. But I bow to ADL for actually knowing something about the leagues....

Ok once again I have looked at the past 2 matches.
First game went under. Total set around 161.5 for that game, game hit just 141 and that was with a healthy Damien Martin for Perth. This guy is the best guard defender in the game and he will have a hard task tonight vs Ware but I have faith in him and what Gleeson has going on with his coaching system at Perth.
The 2nd match, books increased the total to the same total tonight, hovering around 167.5 but that was without Martin and with brand new import Ware who torched Perth for 38 points and Prather also hit 39 points and the game went over and hit 181.
Tonight we get almost the same total of 166.5 even though the last game went over by 14 points? Well I personally believe that the books have set this line a little too high and thats why I will play the UNDER tonight.
Wildcats like NZ, they know when they really need to perform and with just 4 games remaining after this game, sitting in 7th but only out from 3rd spot by literally 1 game, I expect their defense to show up tonight. In the paint will be fun with Majok vs Knight. Perth's bench has been dismal with scoring as well. Redhage awful, Kenny awful. They just don't have true scorers coming into the game once their starting 5 especially Prather comes off. So I expect a high intensity, playoff kind of game between the 2 teams.

Thanks for the kind words Ramanujan. I kind of think Hawks show up tonight vs the 36ers who have wrapped up 1st spot. Expect a few 36ers players to maybe play less time these last few games to get them fresh for the post-season. Joey Wright the coach is known for that and seeing that they have already won 17 games, they cannot be caught. So be careful mate if you play 36ers.
As for the WNBL games, they are tough.. Sydney flying right now, they have the guards to beat the Fire and also the middle presence which is needed to stop Batkovic and Co in Townsville but this Townsville team is very tough to beat at home and if they are mentally in this game and ready for a fight, they can blow Sydney out just with their physical presence. Sydney no doubt will be draining 3 balls galore, they just need to sink in. If they don't hit, then game over because Sydney would be silly playing in the paint all game long with Batkovic in there.. Looking at the under for that game as well because it is the highest in the series so far.

If the Spirit want to be in the top 4 come the end of season, they need to get their offense sorted and why not against a Boomers side playing their 3rd game in just 6 nights which is rare in the WNBL. Spirit's coach said that last week's schedule screwed them against Canberra and they just ran out of legs after playing 2 games in 23 hours which is brutal. Six days later, at home and he said they need to change their game plan. I am hoping they come out of the gates run and gun style against a tired team playing 3 games in 6 days.

That result only strengthens Adelaide's stocks imo.. walking into the gym of a desperate team with top spot sealed and running them down to the last shot of the game.. boy the Sixers are going to take some stopping imo

it sure does. I don't believe anyone will be able to stop them. They just have too much offensive power and the NBL is all about offense and no defense these days. But as you know, its only a 3 game series so you don't have much time to make up if you have just 1 poor game. Last years finals series was atrocious purely because of the travel between Perth and NZ and that was shown in Game 3 when NZ just traveled too much and put up a horrible performance.
