You forgot the part that says the freedom of speech only applies to the government. Not private businesses like the NFL or the Raiders.

James Harrison used a gay slur to describe Roger Goodell in 2011 in a publicly read magazine when he was on the Steelers' roster. Harrison also called Goodell a devil in the same August issue of Men's Journal and he added 'a crook and a puppet...and that if he was on fire and he had to pee to put out the fire he wouldn't do it'. Further 'I hate him and will never respect him'...
James was never fined or repimanded in any way for his remarks by the league office, and though I am in agreement with him about Goodell, it strikes me that there was a double standard going on here. Gruden's texts were personal whereas Harrison voiced his in a publicly read magazine.
Also, all of these covers' guys who sit in judgment of Gruden now are not guilt free when it comes to racial bias...nope, I'm not buying it. I grew up in a salt and pepper neighborhood and I saw and heard many things spoken by both races.
Jesse Jackson ran for the democrat presidential nomination in 1988 and called a certain political operative just another Hymie (person) in Hymietown (Jewtown/NYC)...he didn't withdraw but the liberals went wild and of course no doubt it cost him some votes...Jackson denied it at first but ended up admitting it...weeks later when he saw the impact of the story. Louis Farrakhan threated the life of the Black reporter who wrote the story.

-He denounced the emergence of women as referees
-the drafting of a gay player
-the tolerance of players protesting during the playing of the national anthem
-In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “person” and a “clueless anti football box” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “queers,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.
-Gruden exchanged emails with Allen and other men that included photos of women wearing only bikini bottoms, including one photo of two Washington team cheerleaders.
-And the racial trope about the size of lips.
Seems to me Gruden is a coward. He preaches courage, strength, integrity and confidence, but he smiles in the face of Black, female, gay personnel while he denigrates them behind their backs. And to make vile comments about the Commissioner for trying to implement safety protocols, etc., while grinning on t.v. and making no statements expressing his true feeling -- cowardly.
He is a dinosaur off the field and as a coach!
Not exactly a commitment to excellence!

In Geneva, Switzerland there is a water fountain (Jet d' Eau/water jet) that shoots water over 450 feet into the air on the lake. It is the biggest one in Europe and the local Swiss joke that the fountain is John Calvin's bidet. It took me a while to understand that joke but now I think it is very funny.
Anyways your post sort of reminded me of that joke.

Watching porn and trading picts of lower level (ie. not in positions of power coworkers - Redskin Cheerleaders) is not the same.
Especially thru Redskin team emails!
Just try causing distractions at your work for your boss and see how long you last!
