Lions backers who grabbed the -6 opener and now seeing -3 at a couple joints along with the IR report must be in a tizzy, seems a lot of people think Seattle may grind & dink & dong'em.

Taking a look ahead line for week 5:

Cowboys +7(-115) @ Rams

The Rams/Niners game is going to be a war on MNF, coming off that on a short week will be tough. Cooper Rush>Mathew Stafford. People think that the Rams D is awesome(used to be), but truth is the Cowboys is better.

Hugh, do I smell you coming out of retirement for this one?

The Lions were beating the Vikings the WHOLE damn game, except the last couple minutes...

Everyone on offense is out for the Saints, the game is on nfl network only, I don't have it and I guess I don't give a shit. Wanted to record it as the Vikings play the Bears next week.

GL on the forskins BigD, I don't know how they'll hang for all 4 quarters. The # was telling at open though.

I'm still in my rocking chair (on the porch) enjoying retirement ... but I will opine this ...

There is a chance that Dak plays vs the Rams. If you can get +7 now I suggest you do so.

It's not a bad line if Rush plays, it is a gift if Dak plays, plus it will present an excellent middle opportunity if he does.

Also, do not believe the Cooper Rush hype. He played well last week, the week before he threw 4 or 5 ducks on out patterns that should have been picked off.

I think Kyler Murray is better than Baker, or at least much more capable of playing better than Baker. AZ has had a slightly harder sos so far. So I took the + ML.

In my car listening to the 2 major sports am stations this morning. On one you have grown men calling in for fantasy football advice. On the other you have people calling in for gambling advice, where a female is offering her analysis of the spreads.

Is this where we have come in 2022?

 I remember we also talked about how we both liked playing hold em, until that craze got popular. I also have been done with fantasy for 4 or 5 years, used to enjoy it. Now I could give 2 shits.

Other anglers protested. These dudes would consistently catch fish the same length as the other guys but would always weigh more.

And when you see the same team always winning tournaments and/or finishing top 5, it didn't add up.

The best anglers will win some, but what separates them is consistently finishing in the top 25 or so. It's very hard to do. Some of these tournaments will have anywhere form 75 to 300 boats.

I was wondering about all the fish being dead?  No way that can be normal practice?

HoldEm Poker was the hottest game running in Niagara Falls at Fallsview casino for nearly 20 years before Covid-19 shut everything down...ever since they reopened at the No Name Brand Casino Niagara where all the broke people spend their days looking for chips on the carpet, the poker scene has been absolute garbage mainly due to all the Seneca tight knits who sit down for 12hrs trying to grind out $200 win for the day, and kids who are playing 20000 hands of online poker between one full rotation around the table.

Hopefully when Woodbine Casino's Renovation is completed and their Rebranding into a 5 star Casino & Resort will create the country's biggest poker room with decent amount of action...a lot of the underground players in Toronto will definitely go to Woodbine and lose their money there rather than pay $25+ rake per hand.

Also, there will be mass numbers of poker players coming from Montreal's playground and they give a ton of action.

I haven't played much live since having kids, but having a safe local card room within a short drive from my place is definitely something that will get me back to the game once or twice a month.

I heard they will also have a Las Vegas style sportsbook next to the poker room...sounds like they have everything in place to be a success...the past year, there are sports betting app ads on billboards and buses and TTC streetcars and taxis,,,anything you could possibly advertise on...the Ontario Govt has gone all in with their plans to suck the GTA out of their "entertainment financial resources" with a smile...

Five-Ten years from now, my worry is Toronto will become another Detroit...it's already heading in that direction.
