 Cowboys have a serious problem on run defense.  Middle linebacker, LVE is the big problem.  Too slow and can’t get off of blocks.  The boys are in trouble.  Still have to face Cook, Taylor, Pierce, Barkley and Henry.

Just looked, from 47 to 43 

It's easy to say he was missed vs GB, but the truth is his play count would have been limited anyway because Dallas tends to play with 2 LBers and 3 Safeties. Parsons and LVE were going to take most of the snaps.

The Cowboys defense against the run has been atrocious the last 4 weeks, which has completely skewered their numbers for the season.

I believe the issue is correctable through scheme and the players actually carrying out their assignments correctly. My guess is that DC Quinn will start to bring more pressure through the A and B gaps this week, assuming CB Brown returns from his concussion. With him leaving the game last week, and CB Lewis already done for the year, Cowboys were very light and very young in the secondary, which forced Quinn to keep his Safeties up high more often than he would normally do.

They will not be a stingy run D anytime soon, but they are not nearly as broken as they have looked the last few weeks.

I will be very surprised if they don't win this week (ya heard that, DJ?)

One thing of concern that I just looked up was the battle of the coordinators.

Only one game came up, last year Ed Donotell(DC of the Vikings) was the DC for Denver. He faced Kellen Moore(Dallas OC) where the Cowboys did not score until 4:00 of the 4th quarter. The game was al ready out of hand losing 0-30. They converted a 2pt conversion. Then scored another garbage td and a 2pt. Final score 16-30. Week 9, Dak was the qb. Dallas was at home

Despite losing 2 games in a row, the Bills still jumped to #1 in dvoa, Philly fell to 2.

The Ravens are #3, and the team to look out for imo. They have had the #3 sos after 10 weeks.

Their 3 losses have been by an avg of 3.66 ppg, vs the Dolphins, Bills and Giants. Those teams have a combined record of 20-8.

The Ravens have a cake schedule going forward until week 18 @ Cincinnati. 

The DVOA predictor says the Ravens offense will remain elite but their defense will fall off a cliff. Time to start betting Baltimore overs?

off...Smith is a beast from da Bears....Bowser  edge rusher returned looked good.....

Ojabo  rookie edge rusher back in 1-2  weeks...they lacked pressure,that is going to change

very quickly....Toughest game at Bengals last game of the year.......

All important Bears news : RB Khalil Herbert placed on IR. Herbs was second only to Tony Pollard in rushing yards gained over expected (min 51 carries). Of course Monty is still there and Fields is the teams leading rusher over the past 5 games, but the quality depth is gone. 

By the way the 3 worst RBs based on RYOE are Cam Akers, Najee Harris, and Mel Gordon with teammate Lat Murray just ahead. Gordon and Murray are most interesting because they play behind an OL which is above average in run blocking. Moral of story is swap out your backfield with fresh legs every 3-4 years. No running back should ever be signed to a long term 2nd contract.

Cooper Kupp to IR

For fantasy football purposes it's Van Jefferson season. (Skowronek will get the love but Van is the only true slot/intermediate receiver to take Kupp's target share)

That brings us to the Giants quandary.

Both Saquon and Danny Dimes are coming off their rookie contracts this year. The Gmen have been in cap hell for a few years, and just now starting to get some relief, and then here comes Saquon.

The smart move is to make him a qualifying offer so when he signs with another team they get a 3rd round compensatory pick. But NY is in a serious predicament here. as Barkley is their most popular player and is having a super year. Not resigning him will not play well with the fans or in the locker room.
