Week 4 laugh of the day. Only Hunter Henry had more receptions from Patriots QBs than Dallas CB Daron Bland. However Bland's line of 2 "receptions" for 54 yards and a TD would have made him New England's #1 fantasy scorer of the game.
After 2 decades of coaching ahead of the learning curve it appears that Belichick is becoming obsolete faster than a Rand McNally road atlas.

I'd hate to see it. Shula's 347 steak sauce is awesome.
Many of the coaching greats went on past their expiration dates. Bryant, Bowden, and Paterno in college. Landry and Noll in the NFL. It's selfish behavior by successful old men. Let younger minds get their chance. Like Nikki Haley said "Congress is the most privileged nursing home in the country." These old guys in power don't know when to say when.

More importantly I'm getting Jax +6 right now and I've laid down the hammer. Game of the year type play. You were on the ball looking forward to this moment. It couldn't have played out any better with Buffalo expending all their resources to beat Miami and Jacksonville sitting on cruise control vs. the Falcons. Nobody wants Jax here. Nobody sees beyond their own line of sight. This one is out there on the distant horizon. People will know Sunday afternoon. They will know.

Riverboat Ron (there's no reason he should have this nickname any more, he has no balls) decided to go to OT instead of a 2 point attempt.
Rivera chooses not to attempt the 2 point conversion, which is a 50-50 outcome.
Instead he decides to go to OT and take his chances against an opponent that has the better QB, the better defense, the better offense, the better FG kicker, and is playing at home.
His reasoning? He said his offense was gassed. What about the friggin defense they were facing, Ron?!?!?!?

@yaongingy It's easy for me to tell you what I see. It's easy for me to say what a team/coach should do. Guessing what will or will not happen on the field pre game(aka betting) is a whole other story.
is this what happened about 2:30 left from the 23 they could have taken the lead on 4th and one but choose to go for it, 2 timeouts later they took the ball out of Fields hands and get stuffed. Why not kick the FG and then during the ensuing tv time out get together for a team prayer.

I have $350 invested between +3 and ML. Thinking I may just go to the casino and go Yolo. If it doesn't work out I won't blame anyone here.

Getty----- It's much debated here in the Boston area, but there are plenty of fans who believe Belichick simply lucked into a "Hall of Fame" career because of Brady. My brother is one. His son played college ball at a FCS school. He points to all BB coached games ( Cleveland, etc ) that were not started by Brady. Very interesting. Looking at it from that perspective, BB has won about 45% of the total number of games where he was head coach.
Good luck with your Jaguars and all your plays this year.

I'm keen to what you are saying but it could be said of any HC. It was not Belicheat nor Brady who won those championships alone it was the teams. This notion that the Pats plucked people off the streets and Brady made them allstars is nonsense.

Nice to hear from you, Biscuit. Can't argue with the notion that it is the components of a team that makes them a champion when the pieces all come together. I'm also a listener rather than a participant in these debates for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that debate here is futile and the result goes nowhere. That said, I do think there are players who show leadership qualities while others don't, and that is often the ingredient missing with some of these mega-talented teams. An obscure name that comes to mind :Jeff George. Talented, super accurate thrower who was often reviled by teammates. No one was ever accused of charging into battle with him ( with apologies to younger members of this community ).

Huge respect for Belichick. At his peak his defensive blueprint was the best in the league and he allowed good OCs to do their thing without interference. Nobody worked harder at preparing for an opponent than him.
Not coincidentally all of my praise for BB is in the past tense. His personnel decisions have been egregiously bad lately. In 2020 he drafted tight ends Asiati and Keene in the 3rd round (bust/bust) then quadrupled down by signing Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith the next year for big free agent bucks. Only Henry remains with the team. And let's not even go to the N'Keal Harry 1st round pick that same year. Sure draft a big slow WR while the rest of the league loads up on speed.
The Pats are a slow football team and Belly's personnel decisions are a big reason why. He's been grasping at straws to try and relive the glory years. He needs to gracefully bow out while he has a chance.

that’s my whole thing with Bill and the Pats. The league has changed and yet he continues to do the same things over and over expecting his “brand” of football to be good enough when this league is all about speed and playmakers. He has none of that.

This game is like watching an 80 car pile up. White out conditions, ice on the road, and there's nothing anyone can do about the next semi to smash into the wreckage
