My Eagles are looking tuff this year, need to visit the old home.
What a fucked up boxscore from that Titans/Chief game.
That Willis guy completed 5 passes, not one to a wr, and the game went to OT.
Mahomes led his team in rushing.
KC had 29 first downs, Tenn 9. KC ran 91 plays, Tenn 48.

68 pass attempts for Mahomes for only 20pts in a game that went to OT...wonder if any Madden SIMs came up with this unlikely scenario
I suppose tonight's Under = an automatic Over in tomorrow night's game? I'll wait to see what Cy does before locking in

Of the 22 teams who played on Sunday, 6 of them were led in rushing by their QB

Interesting situation in Seattle.
They had a great draft this year, and have Denver's 1st and 2nd next year.
The questions is do they have a QB.
Geno has been amazing this year. He is a FA at the end of the season. He has a long track record of being a decent NFL backup QB, did he suddenly get better? Or are the stars simply aligned for him this year?
If he finishes this season playing as he has been thus far, he will command a decent contract. But at 32 years old, and having a track record of less than stellar results, do you invest in him? My guess is he will want a 4 or 5 year deal, mostly guaranteed, with an avg annual salary between the 5th and 10th highest paid QB's.
What would you pay him if you were the Seahawks GM, and for how many years?
Top 5 QB money?
Top 10? Top 15?
Let him walk and draft a QB?

There simply isn't a defense for qb who can run out of a passing formation. Miami put a spy on Fields. It didn't work. You can't put a spy on Mahomes cause you know what will happen. Seattle had a couple designed runs for Geno that gained first downs(out of pass looks). I think if Aaron Rodgers was younger he'd be doing well, but he's old and lost a step.

Good post and questions
DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Will Dissly, and Kenneth Walker are sure making playing qb in Seattle a good situation. Plus a pretty damn good o line. And Pete Carol just keeps withstanding the test of time, one of the better coaches in football. He believed in Geno when no one didn't.
Would a 3 year contract be too much? Hard to say.

As far as what has happened with him, I really think he came out of college and just wasn't ready....and clearly had some growing up to do from what we know about him. I also think it is possible for the game to slow down for a QB as they get older. That really is the biggest issue for QBs coming out of college, the game speed. Geno has always had the physical gifts. That is not a question. I mean look at how much control a guy like Rich Gannon had seemingly out of nowhere over the entire NFL late in his career.
I was hesitant to say it until I saw more of him running an offense, over and over, audibles, playing with lead, without lead, throwing under pressure, 2 minute drill.......and I have watched a lot of Hawks football this season.........but Geno absolutely passes the eye test for me. Plays in control, doesn't look overwhelmed or goofy out there, never shook. Yesterday he faked a dive on Buddha Baker and then ended up getting like 5-6 extra yards for a somewhat crucial first down. I can't tell ya how many times I see him come to the line, and I can see what I know I would do based on where the D is, and his audible is perfect.....He is super vocal at the line, which leads me to believe that Pete is giving him some leash. I rarely ever see him forcing a throw, but he is still confident in his arm and will fit it in tight spots......like that TD pass yesterday to DK Metcalf.....that was one hell of a pass. He is in total control of that team. So it isn't as if Geno is just playing it safe, and game managing, playing not to lose. I also think Geno is not all about Geno. He has been around long enough to know better. We are gonna find out real quick what he is made of, because they have some tough games left.
I am just really pulling for the guy for some reason. I love when nobody expects anything from a person and they prove otherwise. Really good story, and I hope it continues to get better for him
For perspective:
Geno hasn't even made $14 million combined in all his years in the NFL.
Mariota got roughly a 2 year $20M contract from Atlanta.
Geno is on a $3.5M non guaranteed deal now.
What could he get in free agency? He is roughly on pace for 4k yards, 30TD and 8INT. Playoffs? Win division? Can they win a playoff game?
I am interested to see how he and the Hawks finish the season. I would expect any team to offer him a 1 year deal, making him "prove it" again. Or a front loaded 3/4 year deal where the only thing guaranteed is year 1.
I wouldn't let him walk if I was Hawks GM. I would try to get him to sign a deal sooner than later. 1 year $10-$15M.....see if you can get him to bite now. They may be able to catch lightning in a bottle with this team. Cap alignment, hitting on draft picks, wide open NFC, etc.....who knows.....I mean what if you can lock him up right NOW for 5 years $50 million? He might just take that considering what his pay scale has been. They should take a page out of the Rays and Braves books and sign him early for cheap (or at least try to)
Hawks have been good to my bankroll this season also.........so I hope Geno keeps it going......

Welp, I'm gonna butt in and play devil's advocate here, highly unlikely Arhentina has a chance, to even make the final, mainly because their side of the bracket is brutal: a possible semifinal vs Germany/Spain/Brazil should be too much for them. The main reason behind backing Arg should be that this will be Messi's final World Cup, and he is gonna give it all etc. imo he is way past his prime, but most importantly he doesn't have the team to do it, it would be a huge surprise if Arg wins the tournament.
As a side note though, fuck Qatar for bribing FIFA and building all those stadiums on thousands of dead workers, they can go fuck themselves into oblivion...

I've seen a few on the Argentines and I just can't see it. Nor can I see Brazil. I have futures on Portugal and the Dutch. I don't love either but id rather back a European team than a S American team GL

European squads win in Europe. Outside their familiarity, nah. A Southern American squad will flourish in the heat (IMO). Messi and Large Tina are unbeaten in 35, playing their best football. Besides, this wager is basically for fun - I'll be doing more serious staking during the competition. Didn't think you lads read my football posts...and England will cough it up in the knock out with a loss in penalties.

I'm not a big fan of soccer, and don't bet on it. But played it for 6 years or so as a kid, so I respect the game.
Anyways, I saw the odds you posted on that bet and it gave me wood.
I'll tail for a few bucks
