Andy Benoit of Sports Illustrated ranks the San Diego Chargers the NFL team hardest hit by injuries so far this season. The Chargers have placed eight players on the injured reserve list, and have lost key players like center Nick Hardwick and running back Danny Woodhead for the season.
Surely, we'll be taking a long hard look at Jacksonville this Sunday, won't we ?
let me remind you of our new policy.
the next subscriber who doesn't remind us not to bet jacksonville when
it looks like we're heading in that direction gets his membership
revoked.
however, Jax really does look like the right side here for a few reasons. can we play them?

New Orleans is #4 at red zone scoring attempts this year and #1 at converting red zone attempts into touchdowns. I like a team like that coming off a defensive based win a week ago. They're a very good team and the Cowboys are not. It will show on Sunday night.

SF -4 (CD Sports special NFC GOY of the week in games in which the point spread is between 3 and 6 prior to week 5. There's more where that came from.)
HOU -3 Fitzy gets to do some work against the team which didn't want to extend his contract. He's a weird dude and will probably shine today before laying another egg in his next start.

Kansas City’s 34-15 win last week at Miami should boost their confidence after an 0-2 start and game 4 underdogs of more than 1 point are 45-15-3 ATS if they won their first game of the season the previous week. It’s just 5-6 ATS on dogs of more than 8 points, so the record is 40-9-3 ATS when applying to underdogs from 1 ½ to 8 points.

Kansas fired Charlie Weis this morning. You have to give the manatee a ton of credit. Nobody rode the coat tails of one good season as an offensive coordinator to financial gain as well as Charlie did for over a decade.

i'm off. i still may add (or possibly make a change, although i hope not), but i'll have to post it on my phone if i do which is always a shaky proposition.
good luck

by the way, i actually don't like SF any more than any other bet, i just wanted to get that one in early. doesn't mean anything. had i not bet it earlier, it would have been farther down on my list today, most likely, but i doubt i'll buy out.

Passing on 3rd and goal by the Eagles was dumb...McCoy had to get it there..or at least pick up the safety blitz....
What's the matter with McCoy ? Last 2 games he's run 30 times for 39 yards. That's unreal. I could do that. He's getting the reps but he's not producing. Typical NFL running back who gets a big contract extension. Time to throw him to the curb and plug someone else in.

another strong week for the newsletter all the way around regardless of whether rob ryan can earn his paycheck for once and slow down dallas tonight. i'm a litle behaind on my dvr, and as i write that, rob ryan goes to the one thing ClubDirtSports.com hates more than anything else in football- the 3 man rush.
shrimp, i could have sworn i liked Baltimore earlier in the week. why didn't i bet them?
on the other hand, so proud of myself for not betting Jax in such an obvious letdown spot.

two things i'll put here as reminders for next week's newsletter.
how in the f*ck did houston win when their running backs had 18 carries for 23 yards today? because manueal threw a TD pass to watt, i supposed and we thought manuel would struggle on the road against a good defense, but there is no way in hell houston plays with good teams or just about anyone on the road with that happening with their running game and fitzpatrick at QB.
same thing for SD. they have major injuries at RB and today their two RB's have 19 carries for 42 yards against a terrible defense. i'm not sure this gets much better for SD and they'll probably be given higher numbers each week now that people know they are good. but how good are they with no running game playing good teams? they don't exactly have fitzpatrick at QB but this team isn't good enough to cover big spreads or regularly win tough games with no running game.
