Don't like the play one bit. Are you really going to make the largest play of the year and give up 3 points off the open? To make this bet means you already lost no matter what happens. Each point is like gold in worth at the pro level.
Some things to counter the three guys they picked up aren't game changers. Lopez is OK but nothing special, they made the bench stronger but this team still stinks. Ever since Roy went down they've shown to be a team that can't be trusted. This is a 35 win team who won't be laying points again on the road all year but found the one game all year opening night laying an absurd number with a group of mental midgets who always fold when things go bad.

Scal: I think smushmachine makes the most valid counterpoints. Plus, I did look up that Phoenix win in Portland. Marcus Morief, the twin who will play, dropped 15. Bledsoe had 6 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and was +23 in the game. Dragic dropped 19 off the bench. Fry chipped in 14 off the bench. You saw what the collection of castoffs called the Lakers did tonight at home against the might 9 point favorite Clippers. I hope you win cause I LOVE your write-ups and the discussion they create. I'm going against you for the points smushmachine made and my boy Eric Bledsoe.
He has the most valid counterpoints because he has the ONLY counterpoints in the entire thread. There's not much else here.
I already had looked up the preseason game prior to him mentioning it to see anything substantive/unusual. What I saw was a lineup for the Suns that will not be the one used tonight.
Marcus Morris 'dropped 15' in 30 minutes...and lo and behold he averages 5 and 2 in 16 minutes PG last year. He wil not see significant time tonight and if he does, all the better.
3 other starters - Brown, Gortat, Markieff all will not be playing or are long gone.
Eric Bledsoe was underwhelming with 6 points.
Channing Frye who can hit shots from the concession area when he wants (and can also be about as relevant as the pole that holds up the backboard the other 80% of the game) was cleared days before to play from a heart condition, one that has saddled him his whole career. He'll likely start. That is BAD for the suns, not good. He's no longer a starter in this league by a mile.
Dragic obviously was the spark. He's the best they've got.
The Blazers sat Batum in that game. He'll start. The Blazers sat Wright in that game. He'll be big off the bench. The other starters/bench players were all those from the train wreck that was last season.
Plus, that was their second preseason game. They lost it and won the next 5. They are ready to 'punch them in the mouth' as Kapono said.

I haven't put in the bet yet because I'm waiting till noon but since the line moved 3, I am dropping it to 30% of bankroll but I'm not moving off the pick despite the huge spread jump.

Speaking of movements of 3...
A 35 win team huh?
Well I guess you're putting your mortgage on the Blazers under because Vegas has them at 38 wins for the season, a full three games ahead of your projection. That's too huge for you not to back up that claim with a ticket.
And don't come in this thread ranting and raving about an 'absurd' number. I made the OP at -3/-3.5 who you even would have been licking your chops for. A lot had happened since then. You're quite late to the party.

For the record, my full NBA bankroll is over 1K and half of it is under 1K. That roll allows me to bet amounts where I can lose a bet and know they will not give me financial problems of any kind.

I don't understand.
This is the game you were waiting for, had a mega-writeup 3 days in advance, and you still did not make a wager when the line was 3 or at least put your bankroll on the ML!!!
Surely you knew the line would be going higher, since the Suns are the worst team in the league.

My site didn't have the line up, like many here who couldn't get to the game. My roll is on bovada. They didn't post the line until this morning.
Of course I knew it would rise. I couldn't do much about. I'm not about to deposit all that money on another site. If it doesn't get to 5 I will eat the 5.5, my problem.
To be honest 5.5 is a joke and a 2.5 pt premium I have to pay from where it should be. The Blazers would absolutely not be laying 11.5/12 to the Suns if they were home (the blazer home equivalent of this line).

LOL. A 1k bankroll. Making a whole big deal about nothing. No wonder you are a degenerate/loser with a 1k bankroll. You been on this forum for this long and still only have a 1k roll.? How sad and pathetic you are. the fact that you talk and act like a no it all just makes it even worst. So funny when ssomeone ask you how much you have on this game/bankroll and you didn't want to answer it at first b/c the amount is just a normal amount to anyone in vegas.
I don't do this for a living. It's a hobby, like the 98% of others here.
Does it delegitimize my OP because my roll doesn't meet your 'hardcore gambler' standards?
Fade me and make my night.

I too may just add them in a small par tonight before tip hoping to get another .5 point off the 5.5. Stay focused Brother, Good Luck!!!!

@tien don't I know...don't I know...they always pay out on time though...that's the only positive and it's a big one
@Drewy - couple points here for a waste of space like yourself.
If you took the time to read what I said, I said half my bankroll is under 1K and the whole thing is over 1k.
Secondly, a unit is a unit to whomever is placing it. To Sammy the Pizza man, a unit was a pepperoni slice. To others, it's actual dollars regardless of the amount.
Lastly, you are equating big dollar amounts bet with legitimacy for a pick, as though, the more you bet, the better capper you must be.
It is that last point where you really prove yourself to be the fool.
Please fade this pick tonight. Any money I win will pale in comparison to a scrawny, gutless alias who wants to take shots at me for writing a post that will benefit everyone who views it instead of actually using it to bet on.
Now run along alias. I eat guys up like you for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week and then belch you out with little remorse.
