Wrong.  Kobe Bryant is still under .500 as a team leader without Shaquille O'Neal.  There is no comparison.  One is a superstar and one is the most overrated sports' star of this generation.

Good thing Seattle is coming to town so the Fakers can atleast stay above .500 for the season but they'll be 8-9 before the end of the month.

Only reason I'm bumping this thread is because the some "genius" was talking big and bad about his 2nd half -8 bet on the Fakers.

LOL... He must've forgotten that the #24 plays for the Fakers?  Bryant turns it over with a minute and change left for Seattle to cut the lead to 5 to secure a triple cover for the Sonics.  Gotta love it, baby.

Same shit, different game.

I'm really getting sick of this 1 on 5 shit.  It just doesnt work.  Fakers lost the game in the 1st quarter with the #24 tried to jack up attempt after attempt.

2-5 in last 7.

The morons saying that the Fakers can only win when Bryant goes for the shots.

Sorry throwback, but you should be thanking Andrew Bynum for your win. He was the player of the game, not Bryant, who was getting torched by AI all game.

Bryant made 2 buckets down the stretch but as awful as Denver's defense is, even you could've scored in this game.

Props to Bynum for controlling the paint in the last 4 minutes of the game.

Speaking of Bynum, this kid has really improved his game.

Once they trade Bryant and change the style on offense from 1 on 5 back to inside-out during their championship days, the team can finally make a run at the Western Conference championship.

wasnt around last night but had to bump this for the Kobe + Bynum duo last night. Dominating a Red Hot warriors team. Gotta love Kobe shutting down B.Diddy in the 2nd half. Lakers now beat Gstate what 9 in a row ?

The Fakers lost to GSW tonight after winning 20 out of the last 22.  Funny you mention Kobe Bryant shutting down Baron Davis, which I did not see.  However I saw last night when he got lit up by Bruce Bowen.

How can you let a player get 5 times his scoring average in one game.

I didnt plan on bumping the thread until the FADE train begins but after seeing all of the Lamar Odom bashing threads by all of the gamblers calling for the fix, if you've followed this thread or the Fakers the last 10 years, you can say that Bryant is one of the biggest point shavers in the NBA.

Look at the last 2 games - 16-47 FGA which shows he still throws up the bricks and he is leading the team in turnovers.

People want to bash Odom yet if he didnt play tonight, the Warriors would have covered.  I bet the books lick their chops when they see Fakers fans heading for the window.

Sorry but despite Bynum's great play, the thread title had to be changed back.

It's funny when a player that gives 100% night in and night out can get accused of shaving points, when a guy that wrecks team chemistry game after game gets a pass.

This thread is proof of that.  And just when I wanted to close it down, it has to come right back up.

  = Real Lakers' fans such as myself watching when Bryant is in the game.

The Lakers built up a 13 point lead and got defensive stops on 3 straight possessions. Each time the Lakers came back down on offense, Kobe either goes through his legs like 15 times and shoots a 20 footer or tries to face up his man and takes a 20 footer. Why are you doing that when the inside game is clicking with ease? The lead should have gone from 13 to 20 at halftime.

 So my question is,do you think Kobe is a superstar with a Low basketball IQ. Understanding the flow of how a game is going on a particular night. Last night was a game where he should have been looking to feed Bynum and Lamar in the post all 2nd quarter. There was no reason for long range shots.

I just think if you replaced him with someone like Lebron or Chris Paul or a Deron Williams, those guys would understand what is working and keep going back to it. Drive inside the paint and dish to Bynum or Lamar for layups. No need for quick jump shots when the Warriors frontline was flat out getting dominated."

It's just over 4 times his average...about 4.1 to be precise.

Where did you find this write up?

The bottomline is that Bryant is the possibly one of the dumbest players in NBA history as far as basketball IQ goes.  He's a 10 year veteran and still doesnt understand what it takes to win in the NBA.

On offense, he will take ill advised shots early in the shot clock, he will take shots outside of the offense, he'll take circus shots just to get up the attempts.  He'll catch fire once a month and hit around 58 to 60% of his FGA and go for a big game, which will no doubt be against one of the worst teams in the league, and people will hail his as the next great.

On defense, he freelances all the time, gambling for the steal which throws the rest of the team out of position and he's one of the worst help defenders in the league and a poor on the ball defender as well.

The myth of Bryant is a joke and is nothing but ESPN hype.  You'll see guys promoting Bryant as a legit MVP candidate yet he isnt even the MVP of his own team.  Thank Lenovo for making the +/- stat public to help prove the morons wrong.

Ok since you want to get technical. It's impossible to score 5.6 points in an NBA game.  So 23 in a game for a 5 ppg scorer would be 4.6 times his average.  As I posted to another homer, that would be the equivalent of a 20 PPG scorer putting up 92 points in a game.

It had nothing to do with Bowen stepping up.  Bowen has torched Bryant in games when both TD and Tony Parker were in the game.  Bryant's style on defense is the reason Bowen gets high percentage shots.

If you were a true Lakers fan, you'd know that the problem with the team now, and as always, has been Bryant.  Atleast you and your cronies arent using the excuse that Bryant has no help this year and the team "has no talent" because they're the best bench in the NBA.

I really hate to point out your stupidity, BUT...

You can easily multiply 5.6 by 4 and get 22.4...when trying to make your point why would you round 5.6 down to 5? Wouldn't basic math that you probably should have learned in 2nd grade tell you that 5.6 is round to 6? So, with your wanting to round the number since it's "impossible to score 5.6 points in an NBA game" why not use 23 divided 6 which equals 3.8...far from your "5 times his average".

This just proves how you like to try and make your points...stretching the truth and spinning things the way YOU want them to appear. Get your shit together dude!
