N. Korea Convicts 2 U.S. Journalists..........

..and as far as Al Gore ..

There’s been a virtual news blackout at Gore’s TV Current, his on-line TV station has suppressed readers’ comments, refused to report the story about his own reporters.  TV Current even posted a guard to keep the press out, as reported by the SF Weekly.

Now, the two journalists, Ling and Lee,  have been convicted and sentenced to "reform through labor." 

Then and now, the former Vice President remains silent. 

He was also silent in March, through April and through May ....

Selig Harrison, director of the Asia Program at the Center for International Policy and who has advised the Ling family, says Gore is willing to go to North Korea to negotiate for the journalists' return to the U.S., but that the State Department has so far been unresponsive.

Harrison says the Obama administration has obstructed efforts to obtain the journalists' release because of "a knee-jerk desire to avoid appearing soft on North Korea...

Kim Yong-hyun, a professor at Seoul's Dongguk University, said the sentence — the maximum possible allowed by the North's laws — could have been a reaction to strong statements from the U.S., including threats of sanctions and putting North Korea back on a list of state sponsors of terrorism.

"I think this is the North's response to recent hard-line moves by the U.S.," Kim said. "But the sentence doesn't mean much because the issue will be resolved diplomatically in the end."

U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said Washington was trying to confirm press reports of the sentencing.

Kelly said the U.S. was "deeply concerned" about the sentences and that officials would "engage in all possible channels" to free the women.

sorry but this isnt day to day buisness the President deals with.  Thats why we have all these differnt depts in govt, so stop blaming Obama for not skipping his meal and putting his superhero cape on. Heres an idea, maybe he should go on a hunger strike until they are freed.

Obama says he would love to be able to spend a week in Paris and enjoy fine dining with Michelle Obama. But the U.S. president says his schedule is tough and there are a lot of crises that need his immediate attention.

Two wars going on one in Iraq and Afghanistan, markets in turmoil, housing market sinking, jobless rate at 10%, banks going under, auto makers going under, North Korea testing nukes and inprisoning Americans , Iran about to do go nuclear , Israel and the Palistinians in turmoil .......

..and they we have the TOTUS out golfing, doing weekend dates in NYC, France, and pick up basketball games plus watching the finals...I guess he gave up bowling ..no time ....... too many crises that need immediate attention
