I feel like such a pussi for hedging my Greek Freak MVP wager...Harden wont win it despite his historic offensive #s...Milwaukee is having a historic winning margin per game season, and Giannis isnt even playing many minutes in so many games come the 4th Q...i will still be very happy with my Greek profits, but i am pissed at myself for being a chicken on this one.
Still, anything can happen...my balls turned into a vagina on this one only because of my Tua wager losing to Murray this year, when i simply never thought that to even be a possibility...had i hedged for even steven there, it would have been the correct move as voters have their own agendas...just look at all the money now this kid is going to make for the NFL right away...whereas if they gave Tua the award, how does that benefit the league in any way this calendar year...its all tea leaves and i got blindsided on that one...if somehow Beard fluffs enough voters with his chin music, it wouldnt surprise me to see him win it, with Giannis essentially given the wink wink nod nod that his name is already on next years trophy.
The real question i have is:
Is Harden a product of the D'Antoni system, or is he truly this generational offensive player all the games media and talking heads claim him to be?
Given the scoring in todays nba, all the rule changes to favor exactly the type of offensive player Harden is, i am not shocked at all by the numbers hes putting up in a season where players get fined big $$$ by sponsors if they are ever seen playing defense.
If Harden played on any other team, with any other coach, i think we would see just what he truly is...a very good offensive player, but not this great legend they are touting him to be on the same plane as Chamberlain (keep in mind Wilts #s are totally scewed as he was playing against mainly white accountants and midgets)
Little bit of both. I used to hate the guy. I remember walking into a local speakeasy and seeing my bro. We both live out of state, he in Houston, so I hadn't seen him in months. I walk in and Houston is on TV. The first thing I say upon seeing my brother, who I hadn't seen in close to a year, was, "Do people in Houston actually like this n*gga!?" You could hear the disgust in my voice and see it on my face.
I digress. His two signiatures, flopping and Euro stepping, are all Coach D. They're both bush league and my reason for hating him. He now flops a little less, Eurosteps a little less, and he's actually gained my respect. A little.
