Here is what I will do...
STOP for this week! Pay him full... this will make him think you are legit, by this he will increase your limits.
BY TUESDAY thats when you unload the bomb on 1 play 1 dime play if you paid him he will likely allow you to bet 1 dime. BUT never split it just go all in. At least you get more time to research tuesdays games.

I was in this position for the first time a month ago; I'm 26, so I guess it took me longer than most to get there. It sucks, but pay him off and stop betting for a month. Betting is a man's business, and it takes a man to own up to his losses and pay them off. An online account is the best way to go from there on out, because it won't let you get into a bigger hole than you can handle. But yea, if you're going to bet with a bookie, then you need to be able to nut up and pay when you lose.
A payment plan will work well. A buddy of mine is a bookie, and he'll always accept payment plans. All the bookie cares about is getting action and getting paid. It doesn't matter to him if it takes you time to pay him off. As long as he gets his money.

stop while you still have cash. worst case scenario, borrow some dough from some friends and pay off the book. last resort would be to ask help from the parentals since they can be a pain in the ass even though they mean well.

"...I just cant give up all $1,000 i have worked hundreds of hours for, just becuase of one bad week and irresponsible week of betting. Please help!"
Yes, you can "give up all $1000" you've worked for. You can and you should. Nuff said.

Listen kid, don't listen to none of these airheads (except for babs1540). I was in similar positiong (actually much worse) and he is telling you the right way to do it. At 21 yrs of age I was betting 5k to 20k a game where I couldn't cover it, stupid, idiot, you name it, that's what I was. Just like you i was winning carrying 50k in pocket per week and then the cold streak sweapt me away; i chased and lost big. The bookie I dealt with was like a big brother to me so he did cover my bets, but if I didn't knew him that well he said my legs would be broken (if i'm lucky that would be all).
Bottom line, don't chase! Take the loss and recover. If you love the game study it over the time you start making money again and then come back with some brains on top of it. Trust me, don't be stupid like I was. It happened to many of us, but many will not admit that.
From that experiance on I have learned a lot and am doing this for a living now. I always look back and tell myself what an idiot i was. I've learned and moved on. Would i do it again? No.
Good Luck. Do the right thing.

Its just so hard parting with all the money i have worked hundreds of hours for. What you think will happen if i make 2 bets tommorow and if i lose, just tell the guy i cant pay up.
u should have thought of that before u lost the intital 1000....if u bet and lose again and then tell him u dont have it, he will be extra hard on u because u took a "shot" against him betting with no money when down to win it back...they dont take kindly to that and it is a scum bag move...pay him the 500...and work out a plan for the rest at worst if u cant pay the whole thing.....and stop betting....if u cant stop then this is just the beginnign of your problems and you will look back on this one decision as the one that started u downhill....ive seen it before....be smart....you are young and have your whole life ahead of u...this stress isnt for kids and u sir are a kid and starting this business the wrong way......go deliver pizza and chase girls...please......

Pay the man his money...................give him 500 and tell him you will have the other 500 in a week or two.. Dont chase man, take the beating like a man... Take a week off study some teams and games and re up when you have some money.... When I was young I chased a lot and sometimes I would wish it was just the 1000 I had to pay instead of the 5000 that I now would have to pay due to chasing....
Gambling is all about discipline.. Thats what seperates the good gamblers from the bad.. take the lost and start the week fresh...
REMEMBER " EVERY BAD WEEK IS FOLLOWED BY A GOOD WEEK"

Fortunately for me, I was never in your position, but i have a friend who has been in your position early in his "gambling career". Like yourself, he had a similar dilemna where he was capable of paying off the debt but he felt he didn't need/want to do this because he didn't want to lose all that money so he put down a couple bets to break even! guess what happened?! He actually won and even got money back from the bookie!....BUT, this just gave him confidence and a couple months later he got involved with another bookie (more serious this time) where he dug himself a deeper hole with higher debt than before and ended losing A LOT more! Eventually he struck a deal with the bookie but he had to work a nice minimum job for a nice little while just to pay off his debt.
My advice:
1) No matter how solid a pick might seem, be rational and only wager a certain % of your bankroll (should be no more than 5-10%)...in your case, since your bankroll is $0...5% of $0 is 0, therefore your $500 bet to get back is irrational.
2)Sports betting in the long run for like 95% of people = losses...therefore especially for you as an inexperienced bettor, your chances are practically 0% of making any real gains.
3) If you dig yourself a hole, and then want to get out, do you keep digging?
