You know why the “bitter old dudes” don’t like it? Because they grew up in an era where there were really talented musicians. The Motown Era and the British Evasion in the 60s & 70’s make today’s “music” seem totally irrelevant. If you can’t read music or play an instrument, believe it or not, YOU’RE NOT A MUSICIAN.

Niners are going to the Super Bowl. Build Back Better means Burrow. Now, you're talking about halftime shows. GTFO.
year of the Tiger, Joe Montana 25 and so is Joe Burrow blah blah blah oh wait, Stafford was a Lion which is kinda like a Tiger so lets go with that. BOOM. WINNAH

I agree. And there was better music in every era from the 50s-80s. I even prefer the grunge/alternative music of the 90s to 90s gangsta rap. I prefer the 90s rap of NY to 90s LA gangsta rap. And I'm from Cali. NorCal not SoCal. The point is you have to come up with something different every year. There's only so many ways to go. What artists would you had rather performed? They were in LA. They booked artists synonymous with LA. The fact that you guys are so butthurt about a halftime show just shows that you guys are a bunch of puffs. It's hilarious to me that you guys are so offended by this.

"There's a movie about Kurt Warner. Kurt Warner is from Iowa like Joe Burrow."
"...but Burrow barely lived in Iowa plus Warner won a Super Bowl as a Ram."
"Nope, Nope, we're sticking with Burrow. B. Brady. Build Back Better. Bitcoin. 13. 25. LSU. Louisiana. Zachary Levi is from Louisiana. Levi is LVI if you take out 25% of the letters."
The Rams win and he wants to talk about halftime shows.

I could see why the average Joe wouldn't like the show . I grew up in that Era so seeing snoop Dre em and 50 perform classics was cool. My only take away is Mary j got fat lol. But we all get older and gain weight so can't knock it too much lol

I have no idea what a “puff” is. What I do know is if you consider any form of rap/hip hop as music, you are delusional. These are not “artists”. That being said, as always, Stu, have a good evening. I’m sure we’ll disagree somewhere else down the line....

Hard to believe this Rap/Hip Hop $hit has lasted this long. I think God stopped giving people musical talent many, many, many years ago.....Grammy Awards should have been shut down a long time ago.

I just turned 60 years old. I like Rock Music from 70s to what's left of it to the present day. I'm completely perplexed at how what that show was is actually considered music as well... I know we're all locked into our tastes when we're young, I get that. Watching them vile mofos at a SB is just, especially when most of us have to watch every word we say or they could be out of a job, career or worse, the ghetto trash can say whatever vile sh*t they want (I'm sorry "sing"), with complete impunity. I don't know how we got here but its incredible when you get to see this from the longer view that I have. Millions brainwashed somewhere along the line to make Snoop Dog on the same level as Paul McCartney.

This country has totally gone off the rails. I feel bad for my kids and grandkids if this continues...

@OneWayOut Back atcha AC/DC Back in Black 42 years old. Aerosmith music approaching 50 years old, Stones music 60 years old. Still relevant, still played. I wonder if in 40, 50 or 60 years, that sh*t on display today will still be revenant. It's purely to pacify the movement, which is impossible btw. A bunch of Grammy winners, hilarious. Shows you what a Grammy's worth in the 21st Century.
Well, some of those songs are 20 to 30 years old and being performed on a Super Bowl halftime show so as far as longevity and relevance...

^^^^This^^^^
There's something to be said for actual talent -- you know, like learning to play an instrument, reading music, spending years upon years to hone your craft and skills....and then performing with others, learning to sing, along with harmonies, etc.
As opposed to putting words/phrases together to sampled music, along with copying music -- you know, music that was created by people as described above. The easy way out...
There are way too many talented musicians/bands out there that can't get record contracts, which is a real shame.

Cut the racist talk. It was trash. Completely catering to the black under 30 crowd. And I don't like Katy Perry either. The Rams uniforms are trash. The way they won was trash. And it might be the last SB ever.
“Cut the racist talk” he says while talking like a racist. Did you have an issue then The Rolling Stones performed at the half time show? Beyond belief some people are wow.
FYI more white people under 30 listen to rap music than any other race lol.

You dudes are comical. You're crying about a Super Bowl halftime show.

You guys are such fruitcakes. It was a halftime show. You guys are so butt hurt over it. Super Bowl halftime is for grabbing a drink, a wing, smoking a joint, doing a rail... you lonely fukks are crying about a halftime show. What would you have preferred? They're in LA. They got some LA rappers. So what. All halftime shows are cheeks to me. I never watch them. I caught the last minute or so. Thought the stage looked great.
I think people are tired of the politics, social justice garbage that the NFL shoves down their throats, in all facets this is intertwined with the NFL; on the field (literally, too), the announcers/analysts, commercials, initiatives -- but then get the double standards that go with it.
As a result of this, they're making it known. Why would you ascribe it being a bunch of old dudes? Because if it were approached objectively, it would be clear to everyone, not just old dudes, not whether somebody liked it or not.
People are going to voice their opinions on this as they see it, because what is good on one side, should be the like on the other. But according to you, they're butt hurt and fruit cakes, should go eat, do a rail, smoke; substitute your judgment for their own -- no, they're tired of it and are calling it out on their merits, and you shouldn't ascribe them your judgments or what you would do.

Nice of you to throw out the extra embellishments -- poor, starving musicians. That particular comment was in context to what was initially said in Post 77 -- about music, musicians and what goes with it; not about the SB halftime show -- why don't you read it again for confirmation. That notwithstanding, what I said is true.
But besides that, if you want to continue to espouse your ill-rationed conclusions about people 'crying' about it , why don't you address it -- wait for it, here comes those words again -- on their merits, and why they say those words in the first place.

What the hell does Dre, Snoop, Kendrick, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige performing at halftime have to do with NFL social justice efforts? Not seeing the connection there. These artists are from gangster rap era of music and late 90s and early 2000s. Has nothing to do with the "social justice" you are so turned off by. It was just entertainment.

But according to you, they're butt hurt and fruit cakes, should go eat, do a rail, smoke; substitute your judgment for their own -- no, they're tired of it and are calling it out on their merits, and you shouldn't ascribe them your judgments or what you would do.
Sigh......so ignorant.
Why else would they have a blatant black performers half time except for a social justice movement.
