Don't forget if you do too well anyways you get banned in so many places
You will have to make money selling picks or winning contests ptobably
You'll win $50k in college hoops and then when basketball season is over you'll lose it all plus $25k in baseball. You'll be back slicing cold cuts this time at Capriottis because you won't have enough money to get back home. By football season you'll be playing $25 10-team teasers at Stations. You'll have a fun stories to tell tho!

First of all...thank you for your service at Jersey Mike's. They were the first company to cater to "small people" with the "Mini" sandwich.
Congrats on coming in first place...FOR LOSERS!! As a former D1 athlete, that's what we called D2 players. Telling people you played D2 is like telling people you have AIDS...nobody wants to know you besides MITM.
Ray Ray is jealous you get the 10-3 shift....don't let him bother you.
Good luck with your endeavors...every blind squirrel finds a nut...eventually.

Yikes. So much wrong with this but assuming that you pretty young, all I can say is go west, young man, and chase your dream. There is no more valuable commodity than youth. The world is your oyster. I would recommend the move to Vegas. You're quitting a menial service industry job. Even if the handicapping doesn't work out, Vegas is built on the service industry. You could always find a exponentially better service industry job. And it gets you the heck out of Ohio. Good luck. I sincerely hope it works out. The fact that you focus on college sports is a good start in my opinion.

Oh, and do not bet baseball. You will lose your roll and your shirt. Make the move now. Get settled. Find a job. Avoid wagering baseball altogether or if so, do it just minimally for at least a few years until you become comfortable. Baseball is a fickle beast. It can have you believing you've cracked the code in June only to leave you drained by August. Again, get a job. It's not like you're leaving Sysco. You can always find another service industry job in Vegas. Prepare yourself for an exponentially higher cost of living. Get moved, get settled. By the start of next college basketball season you will be settled in and comfortable and you'll be able to hit it hard. Don't spend summer and fall chasing baseball and football if you specialize in college basketball. Finish out the season in Ohio and use your winnings to make the move but make no mistake, get to carry you through to next season. If you are truly good, ideally you will work part-time in the off season to make ends meet then make your yearly but during college basketball.

Ok. 29. This is a very important age. You aren't getting any younger. Time to figure things out. I think this is a great idea but I can't stress enough that you should get a job. Ohio has some charming, quaint parts and some real messed up parts but in both, the charming and the messed up, there isn't a lot of opportunities. In a place like Vegas you can get a service industry job and actually parlay that into a meaningful career. You meet people, make contacts, etc. It's also a place where you can gig in the off season to support yourself and take off in the spring to handicap full time. Don't go into this thinking you will support yourself 365 wagering on sports. Get a job and lean into your specialty, which is college hoop.

Go for it while you have no responsibility other than staying alive. At least that way you can say you did it/tried. Odds of success are against you....but there's always a chance.

Why does it feel like you're of First Nation descent and Slade Running Fox is your real name.

Or, or, maybe in a few years he's on the path to home ownership. Let's be frank. He's working at a Jersey Mike's, in Ohio. He's a few missed shifts from homelessness as is. We've all seen a million of these threads. Usually I would say it's a bad idea but the stars have aligned. There's nothing holding him in Ohio. No wife and kids. No career. He's still young enough to chase a dream like this but that window is closing fast. It could very well all work out for him even if not through handicapping. I say go for it. My only suggestion is to get a job, or at least a gig.

Good luck!!
I say do it. There are tons of other jobs open in the service sector that can't be that much uninspiring than working at Jersey Mike's. If the gambling doesn't pay off right away, you can always go back to work part-time for awhile

Good luck bro, most people never even take a chance on something. I've tried multiple times with different ventures in life and have still failed. You have nothing to.lose worst case you lose it all and have to work again. I would recommend learning how to bartend though, you can make a very nice income and do it anywhere in the world. Perfect gig for betting as well, you'll meet all kinds of contacts and be able to network.

Well, you should do what you feel is right. All these posters saying “don’t do it” are just warning you of the pitfalls of gambling fir a living. They might be right, but if the gambling full time does not work out, there is always another job in Vegas to apply for that is better than Jersey Mikes in Ohio. You are making a life change regardless of the gambling and at your age, it’s the perfect time to figure that stuff out.
