Here's something I saw recently that asked rhe below was caused by inflation or corporate greed.Let m know what you think...
McDonald's, after raising prices, announced topping 23 billion in revenue during 2021. Profits soared 59% from a year earlier to 7.5 billion.
Exon Mobil reported 8.9 billion in profits during the 4th quarter of 2021 as oil prices soared. They plan to resume their stock buyback program by repurchasing 10 billion over the next 2 years.
Starbucks raising prices despite soaring profit.
UPS just reported record breaking profit & plans to hike prices in 2022.
obviously those r 4 examples of rising prices contributing directly to high inflation which can b blamed 100% on joe biden and the democrats ! its all their fault for those price increases . everyone knows this bcuz clearly it is a fact . same thing with car prices going up bcuz of computer chip supply issues resulting from overseas suppliers dealing with covid . clearly all the democrats fault .

@BigGame90 I've answered the vax question at least twice but I'll answer it again. As an employer, I have a responsibility to protect my employees and customers. I would strongly urge, not force, employees to get vaccinated. However, I don't have that issue because my employees are "like" thinking on the subject & they want to protect themselves as well as those they care about including our longtime customers. We hire people who we believe will be compatible, honest, trustworthy with similar morals & work ethic that helped grow our small company. We are no longer looking to grow the company & are strongly considering selling the company to these same employees. We have built a special bond. OK? @Midnight1
The reason for my question (must have missed your answer) was this comment...
(Sorry, but in my company you accept my rules to be vaxed or work somewhere else where it isn't mandatory. We have that freedom in our country as employers/employees. I might encourage some fat bastard to put down the potato chip bag or give assistance to help someone stop smoking. They can accept that olive branch or not. But if their lack of self control impacts my operation by choosing to be unhealthy, they gotta go work somewhere else.)
Then this answer...
"I would strongly urge, not force, employees to get vaccinated "
Sending me mixed signals here Midnight.
Are profits up because they are doing such a great job, or are profits up because they are price gouging customers under the guise of "inflation"? How long can those profits keep up before they fleece the general public? Are wagers keeping pace with "inflation"? Are record markets the result of leverage and debt or great work by corporations when there's a "labor shortage".
Wish you luck with your business and whatever route you decide moving forward. Your employees would be the best suit to take over shall you pass it down, or sell. Always nice to keep the crews busy and working.

I've been retired since 2006, so it's my wife's day to day business & I just get involved with contracts, vendors etc. She deals with the crazy South Florida Condo Commandos.
She actually got a call on a Sunday morning from one lady because she lost 4 quarters in the condo washing machine. Nuts!
But back to the vax issue, if I hired a person who I misjudged & learned he/she was a POS, a thief or just had a negativity about them around our team/customers, I'd fire their ass in a heartbeat. And that includes not getting vaccinated. No mixed messages with employees. They know & support where we stand on the topic.
We have 6 veterans, a lady accountant who has been with us since day 1, a veteran's son as an apprentice plumber & an FAU (Florida Atlantic) student who handles phone calls/customer service from noon until 5. She also fixes/updates the iPads for everyone. We know what to expect from our vets & our customers love them. They are not afraid to allow them in a room without watching over them as they fix whatever problem they may have. Two of the vets speak Spanish which is huge in South Florida & we pay them all about 20% over the going rate for their skills. As far as the student, we pay here $8 per hour & pay for her school books which are ridiculously expensive. Most of the books are online, so we also pay for her lab fees. She's the daughter of my buddy who passed away last year of Covid. He wasn't vaccinated & neither was his family. They are now. We are in a position financially to help her & her brother & it's absolutely the right thing to do.
I believe we are our brother's keeper. Now that probably sounds like a real liberal but whadyaaa gonna do. We are who we are.

Customers sure do love to complain and it takes a toll. Just gotta keep pushing through with a smile.
As for the vax, I wont criticize your ways, as for me, I'd never force someone to inject something in their body if they didn't want to and I'd never fire or not hire them for choosing to go without the vax. I think that goes against our personal freedom/ choice that you and your brothers and my family fought for. I think the vax should be a personal choice and our gov't and specialists should provide as much information to us as they can so we can each make our own individual decisions. Just like how I don't condone someone for drinking a gallon of pepsi or having a dozen pieces of bacon even though it's not very healthy. My vax has no effect on you or anyone around me, therefore IMO I shouldn't mandate they inject the vax to work for me. Just my opinion. Glad to hear the other side from you. I think the biggest misconception or misinformation is that my vax has a direct effect with you. I believe when the vax was rolling out the people who rushed to get it instantly thought it was safe to go back out and live life as normal because they were vaxed and thought they couldn't get and spread covid. Now that we know that's not true, we know the vax only has effects on the person who took it and the vax is used to limit symptoms which in theory should help slow hospital visits and not put so much stress on our hospitals. As for the posters who keep posting that "you're 58-124 times more likely to end up in the hospital if you're unvaxed yadda yadda" may be misleading and I highly question the reporting of the numbers and percentages. I think a lot of data can be misconstrued or skewed to push a narrative.
I would hope my employees would respect the fact that I'd let them make their own decisions and if they want to only work for someone that mandates the vax, that's their personal choice to only work around people that are vaxed.

I think the point you may be missing is that they respect me & they want to be part of what we have going on as a small company. We are like family.
I never brought the vax subject up other than letting them know my wife & I got our shots. One by one, they came into work & let us know they got their shots as well. I never asked to see their vax cards because they know I trust them & if they lied to me then our business/personal relationships would be over. We have common values & it's one of the reasons we get along so well as a team.
Over the years I've learned to read people fairly well. While serving I was taught to trust the man (I say man because women were not serving in combat back then) next to me. We became as close as brothers & many in here will say the same thing. We acted as a team to get a job done & survive each day. It's hard to describe the bond but it exists to this day. We all hated being there so we also had that in common. We all just wanted to get home alive.
But I'll tell you this, I never ever believed we were fighting for our freedom. We were fighting for the freedom of others that we didn't know or frankly give two shits about. I didn't volunteer; I was drafted. Fleeing to Canada was out of the question but to be honest, it entered my mind.
Like I've said before, I returned home very, very angry because it was a total waste of American lives. I saw things that I can't even talk about but still have regular dreams waking up sweating & out of breath like I just did a couple of laps in the pool. Most can't talk about what was done or seen. It easily brings grown ass men to tears.
So yeah, I get a little nutty in here when I read comments from some punk that doesn't know shit about life yet & calling someone a Commie, I want to blow a gasket. Maybe we grew up faster than normal. Maybe we became hardened beyond our years but it's the history of our country & many, many didn't make it home.
When I got home, I didn't want to worry about anyone else except my immediate family. I didn't have to worry about someone else having water or ammo or dry socks or the fucking snakes/bugs or getting fucking ambushed or feeling like human bait hoping to expose the guerillas positions & the unrelenting tension. And the rain...it was impossible to stay dry. To this day, I hate getting rained on.
I know the damage a weapon can inflict on another human being. So when I read someone in here talking about their right or freedom to own as many guns as they want, I know not to even try to engage them in dialogue. Life helps you recognize a fool & to act accordingly.

I can attest to that. KellyM and I have been "besties" for decades, since our National Guard days in the late 70s, and keep regular contact with others we served with back then, though this is not even remotely near as bonding as actual combat where your very lives depend upon one another.

Wonder why this thread isn't being bumped much. Hmmmm I only bump it because it looks like we may have a decent day on the market based on futures. As my investments are down around $22,000 for the year, I really hope it makes a rebound, regardless of who the president is, I want our country to do well.

What's the MSM excuse going to be now? Guessing good ol covid, or maybe the "war". No mention of how the FED printed money so people can stay home and collect "free" money to "stop the spread"
Just wait to see what happens as he continues to cancel student more debts.
Lets curb inflation by raising rates. Lets keep printing money to prop up the stock market. Rinse and repeat and spin circles while continuing to the lie to the public about the real issues with our markets.
Just waiting for third to come in with something along of lines of "the markets are doing great under Biden according to (insert more BS articles from opinions), the economy has never been better and jobs continue to be filled at record rates and the market will recover and hit 50k like Nature thinks will happen in the few years"

dow up over 34,000 for first time ever there is a cause and effect relationship here with new administration efforts toward exceptionally fast vaccinations and the stimulus bill biden got passed , according to financial experts
Hi Kelly,
You seem to have a really good grasp of the markets — can you please explain the cause and effect relationship of the Nasdaq being down 35% since November?

Will the NY Stock Exchange have to take extraordinary measures and stop trading today? Is our paper money with the words 'In God We Trust' safe under an illegitimate President named joe biden? Only time will tell.
