I'm torn between really liking this guy, and slapping the smugness outta him.

As a first time HC, I sense this will NOT be a modest success or limited failure.

 No one can crap on 80's music. Shall we begin with the birth of Metal, Hip Hop, House, Punk, Garage, Electro, New Wave, and finish with the death of Disco.

No era has spawned more types of music than the 80's did, and no era ever will.

Which begs the question : Why even fire David Culley to begin with? To call this a lateral move for the Texans would be over selling it.

Sac, I second the notion that a short time period from the late 70's into the early 80's was the most diverse musical era of all time. 

RHCP's first single from their upcoming "album" (or whatever they're called now) is totally on point for that band. Frusciante's return can't be under stated. He just nails it again.

 Musically, the Peppers are ridiculously good. I've never been gun ho about them, but they have my respect 100%.

I believe that their first album was possibly late 80's ish, maybe 1990. 32+ years being a band. Incredible.

and the 90s and the 2000s and the 2010s and the 2020s..........

 The 80's were the springtime of my life. If a young lady wanted to listen to The Cars, The Go-Go's, or Madonna I was down with that. The Who never quite set the mood on a Friday night. 

The best 80s tune for the lasses (sober or trashed) was Gabriel's 'In Your Eyes'. 

Worked 89% of the time.
