the entire article refutes your assertion on a global scale
i tried to simply supply an unbiased study
please link me some evidence of your statement
if you need some more reading refuting your statement, you can read up on the Lott and Kleck studies they are based on actual numbers also, not opinion like the brady billers
im sure you will have to google it
i asked not to be linked to an opinion article by the brady billers and you linked me an article written by the president

You are at home with your family at 3:00AM. Someone breaks in with a shotgun intent on doing harm to you and your family. The police are at least 10 minutes away. What do you do to protect your family while you are waiting for the police to come and save you?

Question for you anti-2A people:
You are at home with your family at 3:00AM. Someone breaks in with a shotgun intent on doing harm to you and your family. The police are at least 10 minutes away. What do you do to protect your family while you are waiting for the police to come and save you?
find me something that is unbiased and not based on an agenda built with an ambiguous grading system
you linked me an article written by the president of the brady campaign published in the huffington post???
i could link you a hundred articles from biased sources to refute your source
please refute my earlier link that debunks the grading system put in place by the brady bill to fit their agenda
I'm not going to refute an entire Harvard Law Review article that has nothing do with what I am interested in. I'm not interested in the banning of guns, I have not said that once on this website, I don’t know why you and steveshane continue to put those words in my mouth. I am merely interested in strict gun laws versus less strict gun laws and if there is a correlation to gun homicides. I am not interested in examining this on a global scale either.
Your article is not pertinent to what I am interested in examining either. If you really wanted to get a good answer you would have to do some research with regard to gun homicides in different states with less strict laws and compare them proportionately to other cites with much stricter laws on a scale that would identify the amount of deaths in these two locations.
If you want to do all of that research and try and prove me wrong and provide me a thesis and sources, interviews, and so on. Be my guest. Don’t just post an article that has Harvard attached to it and expect me to believe all of that junk that has nothing to do with my original point.

Stiln ,........ Who deputized you as the Official Political Forum post evaluator ?
Anyone who seriously claims, that the Washington Post and the New York Times are not liberal outlets......isn't worthy debating ...
How are you going to tell me that the Washington Post is a liberal news outlet? Excuse my personal insulting but do you smoke crack? I read the Washington Post every day and I can name several right wing editors who express their conservative ideologies in their columns: George Will, Marc Thiessen, Robert Kagan Robert Samuelson, and my favorite conservative Michael Gerson.
So please dont give me this nonsense about liberal and conservative newspapers. Are there certain ones, maybe more conservative than others, possibly?
But for you to make such generalized comments about an entire newspaper shows how ignorant you are. And this is the wrong thread to bring that up in. I guess you realized in that other thread that I was up 56-3 with my backups in as straightshooter likes to say.

you are not going to refute it because it is full of factual, unbiased, statistical evidence published by respected scholars and it blows your statement out of the water on a local and global scale
you are going to believe what you want to hear from biased people with an agenda
good luck with that

Your post in the other thread with a 7200 word ad hominem about George W. Bush does not qualify as a backdrop.......
.only 7200 words .....||offtopic.gif' border=0>
bc no reply was necessary .........
You said the same about Obama. When the thread was suppossed to be about palin and the republican party, nothing to do with Barack Obama.........
Bush is well-known as one of the worst presidents of all time. At least wait for Obama to finish out this term and once he gets reelected and finishes out his 2nd term, only then will we be able to grade and evaluate his presidency.
Since this fourm loves to use sports analogies for politics here;s a good one that I would deem appropriate:
Obama is the closer for the world series team and hes already given up 3 runs but his team is still ahead 6-5 and has a chance to win the game. Bases are loaded and its a full count with 2 outs.
We will see what happens these next 6 years. But for now. Stop writing off his legacy Sara.

First of all did you even read the article?
Secondly I once again never said I am for BANNING guns. I said I was for making the process DIFFICULT. Do you understand the difference?
I have said that 3 times now.
The purchase of a firearm should be the most difficult purchase in America. The background check should be extensive, intrusive, and exhaustive. And once approved, you should be required to demonstrate your proficiency before taking possession.
Also please provide page numbers and line numbers as to where it refutes my comments along with statistical evidence. Post the links to the data sources as well.
If you really wanted to do the research on this topic you very well could and look up each of the states.gov websites and look at the the gun crime rates in states that only require a 4473 form and compare them to the states I mentioned earlier in the thread and then proportionately add up the percentages.

Tokenism does not determine a news outlets political views.......if it did FNC would be called the most liberal cable network on TV ...daily you can hear the views of liberal commentators on Fox e.g.Bob Beckel ,Juan Williams, Shepard Smith ,A.B.Stoddard ,Geraldo (born Gerald) Rivera,Mara Liasson, Jane Hall, Marc Lamont,Kristen Powers (hot) just to name a few and my presonal favorite liberal Alan Colmes..........
So having said all that ...I guess the saying holds true in your case .......
'To make a conservative mad, lie to them. To make a liberal mad, tell them the truth.”

These are not guest stars that appear on the last page of the political section of the washington post. What is wrong with you. I'm telling you that I read the Post every single day and I read Gerson's columns that he writes EVERYDAY about how obama is a horrible president (in simpler terms obviously) as well as George Will, Marc Thiessen, Robert Kagan and Robert Samuelson. All of those editors are not guest stars.
You are slandering an entire newspaper, sara. Go watch your fox news
And i'll read my liberal newspapers.....
'To make a conservative mad, lie to them. To make a liberal mad, tell them the truth.”
More sarcasm. At least your talented at something!

I really thing you need to go back to your shake weights and reading the Washington comPost and Barney Stinson serials...........
Later ..much later ...
A speech that Obama gave about that shooting has nothing at all to do with these comments:
But the problem is he never stopped campaigning ,,,and because of his lack of management skills he has not surrounded hinself with good advisors ..and has made some reeeeally bad appointment posts ..no people with business knowledge ...at a time when it is most needed ...
In fact I believe now, that his main crew has either resigned or fled back to Chicago to work on his "12" election the only one's besides Michelle and Mother-in-law Mrs.Robertson giving him advice is his political godmother Valerie Jarrett ..the one who hired Michelle to work in Mayor Daley's organization...
Democrat politicians have seen this last Nov., that voting for Obama's personal agenda regardless of the will of their constituents... will only get them fired by the voters as fast as you can say "Obamacare "........
Keep up your sarcasm buddy, it's the only thing you understand how to do. As for your spelling error comments, those are accidents. Steveshane has no intention of writing with any level of intelligence and granted this is the political disscussion section, its a disgrace but then again where does arguing politics online get you? Perhaps nowhere?

Alright well lets go back and correct all of your spelling miscues... Ready?
As I posted the liberal MSM has made Palin the face of the "R" party .but they are not the one's who get to choose the face come election time ...MSNBC, the Washington Post, NY times are all liberal news outlets ...
The one thing that Palin does have, that Obama doesn't ..when she speaks with clarity you know what she is saying... whereas after Obama say's something it takes four liberal bobble heads on cable TV. to translate it for us ...
Now you are correct Obama's Chicago machine campaigning tactics were brillant ..just beating Hillary was a unbelievable accomplishment to say the least ...
But the problem is he never stopped campaigning ,,,and because of his lack of management skills he has not surrounded hinself with good advisors ..and has made some reeeeally bad appointment posts ..no people with business knowledge ...at a time when it is most needed ...
...
....and when you say "The repblicans are not united right now" you are also correct ,but don't fool yourself there is more distention in the Democrat Party today, than in the Republican party,,,the Repubs have a two year head start on the D-party as far as getting it together ...
Spelling republicans wrong!!!!! Shame on you!!!!!! What would Sarah Palin think of this.....
Think about it she has got it made in the shade with Koolaid ...book deals, TV shows,$100K a pop plus speaking engagements, cable news advisorships ..she is not loved by all but she is loved by many...there is also a saying 'you are judged by the people that hate you' ...well looking at the people that hate Palin ...is one reason why I like her ...
Advisor ships is two words

Never once did I say banning guns. You misread and plugged words into my mouth there.I said making it DIFFICULT to purchase a fireman. Do you understand that difference? Also I am not interested in comparing England to the USA. I am interested in researching gun homicides in states with less strict guns laws that require more than the 4473 form.If you don’t know what the 4473 form is look it up.
Also having a good shot is a very vague term. Please explain to me what a good shot is? Hitting a target from 10 feet away? 30 feet away? Or perhaps 50 feet away with a 22mm pistol? Or with a 44 magnum? Or perhaps good shot simply means simulating a shot on a computer screen that the gun licensing officers allow? Please do explain your level of proficiency that should be involved with receiving a firearms license.
Also I know you will probably disregard this last point as you assumed by my comment that your 14 year old lingo was conveniently referring to the good shot term. Not quite sure why you would think that. I was referring to the fact that when you used “bc” to abbreviate because.Of course everyone knows what that means but why not show a little more intelligence and write out the full word?
Are you that lazy that you can’t type out the full word because and capitalize the 1st wordof a sentence? That’s pretty pathetic……..
i wasnt aware posts on a forum should be written with the same attention to detail as a writing sample. seriously, if you cannot handle someone using common shorthand abbreviations, you need to take the dildo out of your asshole.
1) you can use a gun and not kill someone right? to just focus on gun murders is pretty narrow minded.
2) i know you didnt say ban and only said make obtaining difficult. i was merely pointing out that taking your reasoning for making obtaining a gun difficult to its logical end does not work.
3) i have no experience in anything dealing with gun licensing. i dont have one, dont want one, only know a few ppl that own them (on a side note, dj, does this conflict with your pre scripting opinion of me?) but that doesnt change my opinion that being "proficient" in gun use is a bad idea. am i against taking a safety course, no, but anything beyond that serves no purpose. i mean do you really want to train the ppl that are going to be shooting at ppl how to "proficiently" use a gun. for fucks sake, its a good thing laughner was NOT PROFICIENT or else a lot more ppl would have died.
4) dont you think its funny that you have real world case studies from the uk and you dont want to know anything about them? probably bc those facts conflict with what you want to believe????

i see you like to play the do as a i say not as i do card.
Nope not getting emotional at all. Your buddy Rick was
"Sorry if I seemed combative, I am very passionate about this issue."
NEWSFLASH, YOU WERE THE ONE MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT GRAMMAR!!!!
you know why slim is "allowed" to have bad grammar? bc he wasnt making a big deal about it.
remember when you said this "Are you that lazy that you can’t type out the full word because and capitalize the 1st wordof a sentence? That’s pretty pathetic…….."
heres a novel idea, dont make a statement such as you did and expect not to get called out when you cant go a few posts without repeatedly contradicting yourself
