Alright, I just looked it up. They were named by a Finnish botanist after another Finnish botanist, his colleague, who specialized in plants from the Caucasus Mountains and surrounding region. I still say "Nordmann" sounds more like an anglicized Nordic name than an actual Nordic name but i'm no expert.

This whole 51st state is just plain stupid and I get tired of hearing it. Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories. Obviously they should become the 51st through 63rd states. We could make the provinces 51 through 60, and continue to denote the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut as territories, seeing as how they are far north, expansive, and essentially empty.
We haven't gone about it in the right way, and have alienated our northern neighbors, but there is nothing but good that could come from Canada joining the United States.

I will say it like this (since I come from the country) that currently “own” Greenland - for me and most Danish people we wouldn’t mind you guys having it - the problem is how you go about it - it shouldn’t be taken by any kind of force it should be the greenlanders choice to join you guys (you talk and treat them like they are some kind of commodity we can just sell you - like we live in the fucking 1600’s) - if they chose that we would give it to you the next day (probably for free) - but when you guys play gods that can just take whatever you want - you are basically not better than all the “bad” countries you guys highlight over there - then you are just a dictatorship basically - why is your security more important than everyone else’s
But I know the double moral is strong over there - it was ok when your anchestors (immigrants) took the land from the natives by force - but it isn’t ok now when immigrants comes in - it is ok if you take what you want by force - but you are quick to point fingers at others doing so - like you are the fucking guidiance of what is correct and good to do - you guys are pathetic sorry to say

And you guys took the slaves and used them until they died - so let’s say it is a 1-1 if we go back in time - the difference is we have evolved while you guys still treat people like we are 400 years back - if you can’t see the irony in a country built on immigration - don’t want immigrants - you are a lost cause - to use your example we sat them free 100s of years ago - we also owned Norway and we are basically the reason they are so rich today because we gave them the ocean with all the oil - try play out that history with how US would have acted in same situation
It is also pretty telling that Greenland as of now prefer us to you guys even though your president promise them everything under the sun while we only recently has start treating them nicely and has done experiments etc on them again 100’s of years ago - then you as of now would have to take them by force - that should be pretty telling who is considered to treat it citizens the best
If anyone from the outside was to give you guys an advice (also based on your guys go to everytime you are confronted with reality - “we are too large for it to work for us”, “buhuu”) - then the advise would be two fold - either get your shit together with what you have - or divide into several smaller “countries” and then get your shit together
You could easily make friends with China if you weren’t as big as you are now (and it isn’t like you are treated better than they are in China I would say it was more or less business as usual if you were “controlled” from Beijing) and your president is already working for Putin - so there is really no reason for you guys wanting to be even bigger more the opposite
Yeah we weren’t treating them well - I am not entirely sure everything we did but I know we forced a spiral into a lot of the women trying to keep the population down and stuff like that - but you don’t have to go further back than WW2 ish time before stuff like that was not that uncommon in a lot of countries - most of the horrors Germans put person.s through was also for experimenting purposes - it was different times back then :s it is also the only thing I will give Trump - he isn’t lying when he says we didn’t treat them well through time
It wasn't for experimental purposes, primarily. They wanted to wipe them off the face of the earth. The experimentation, having human guinea pigs, was simply a convenient by-product. We did some pretty ill stuff in this country as well, even going back only 60 or 70 years, and less in some instances.
