So our fine FB banter stays in one spot the baseball Houdini's can use this new wing of the block to post their winners and educated guesses. I already have a conflict.

Hold full unit ticket on the Yankees to win the Series @4-1 bought back when Balty was Balty. I had a premonition after doing some deep diving regarding MVP. Teoscar Hernandez @28-1 got a 1/4 unit but for it to hit Yanks probably have to lose. Perplexing!

The perceived value lies with the peripheral players. But I'm afraid with a Billion(s) dollar flick in production, the Oscar for the Best Actor in a starring role will be one of Oh, Jud, So, Bet, Gia, Free or (maybe) Co - mine is on Juan.

Vinnie Jones voice: You cheeky bastard. Nice play on words.
I'll just add that the MVP will most likely be a batter, neither team has a pitcher capable of winning the MVP.
My only gut feeling is they will head to NY with the series being tied, 1-1. As I said in the letter, Cole is the key for the Yankees, I wanna trust him but... I don't know. On the other side Flaherthy had one good start, sandwiched between 2 dreadful one, so the Yankees can surely get to him.
I don't get why the odds have kept going up on the Yankees, they are now @ 2.15, but maybe I'm biased...

Quiz, does Ohtoni take the mound this series? I don't know how far along he is in his re-hab but my brother brought it up a minute ago. Wouldn't that be a cherry on top!!

Ohtani cannot take the mound....it's a contract thing not because he wouldn't...I have a feeling Ohtani would do anything he is told because he is a team player 100%...the guy is not only athletic and great at baseball but he is also just a great human being....
Dodgers win the World Series....sorry New York....I've been given the Sports Almanac...

Dave Roberts said "there is no possibility he'll pitch. None whatsoever. " That's different than coachspeak. That's to the point.

Nestor Cortes makes the WS roster for the Yankees, which means they will have their whole starting rotation available: Cole, Rodon, Schmidt, Gil, Cortes and Stroman. Cortes said that, if the price for winning a ring is him missing the next season, he will gladly pay that price. So I dunno if he will actually pitch, also Stroman hasn't pitching at all, in the postseason, his role is probably to come in and eat some innings, in a possible blowout.
One thing I forgot about, the Dodgers only have 1 LHP, which is good for the Yankees, given their struggles against lefties.
Today is Soto's birthday, maybe he will celebrate it with a 2 run HR...

Nostradamus ain’t got shit on me!
Nostradamus ain’t got shit on me!
That was absolutely fucking brutal... for the Yankees.
Everything broke the Dodgers way: Torres with another defensive bonehead play, allowing Ohtani to go to 3rd so he scores on a sac fly and ties the game 2-2, Rizzo stops running and gets called out in the top of the 10th, and to top it all off Boone decides to put Cortes on, who hadn't pitched in more that 40 days, when he could've went to Hill... all the Yankees shortcomings were on display in this game: defensive mistake, poor base running, dreadful bullpen management, so it's hard not to feel like they give this one away.
I'm not gonna shit on Soto, but a huge reason why he shouldn't be paid $600 mil is his defense, his range in right field is limited. Also, in the top of the 3rd, in a 3-2 count he swings at a ball and grounds into a doubleplay, so instead of 1st & 3rd no outs -> 2 outs on a poor decision.
Meh, they need to forget this one quick, going back to NY down 2-0 will be hard to overcome...

Cortes on the road no less in as much of a pressure situation as could be imagined, I'm not a student of the game but if I were the manager I would have explored any and all options to avoid this situation.

Unreal....

Hill had pitched well....
Hill had pitched well....
The reasoning for bringing Cortes on was this: great numbers against Ohtani, so in that regard he did his job, buuuuuuut once you put a pitcher on, he needs to face a minimum of 3 batters, Freeman was the 3rd because they intentionally walked Betts, to load the bases.
They should've went for Hill, but they were scared of Ohtani, hence the Cortes move, who hadn't pitched since September 8th. Boone took a gamble and lost, unfortunately for the Yankees, the irony here being this is not the first time, his bullpen management costs the team a game.
You can't buy luck, and in that regard luck was on the Dodgers side last night, remains to be seen if that's the case for the whole series.
