Watch all the Jet fans get ENRAGED at the ending of that sentence. Don't fool yourself folks. The Indianapolis fans and media were likening the week 15 Jets win to a FORFEIT. No. Don't fool yourself. Those last two games were meant nothing and they effectively inflated the aggregate Jets season long defensive stats. For example, for Points Against, the Jets would no longer be #1 with 14.8. Take away the last two games and average the total pts over 14 games and the Jets have the #2 PA in the league at 15.8, second to the true #1 Dallas at 15.6. Why do I point out such a close discrepancy. Because Jet fans use #1 Defense for the 'Defense wins Championships.' So any time I can take that #1 away and let them get in tough with reality, I will. It also inflates the yards defensed considerably (you think Cincy was trying last week with 78 net yards for the ENTIRE GAME!!!?? Furthermore, you think if Cincy's 7 starting defensive lineman played, they would have given up 257 yards rushing? Which leads to ANOTHER inflated stat the Jets lead the league in and that is rushing YPG. Averaged over 14 games it effectively ties them with the Titans (just removing the #1 again for the fans' sake). But this goes even further. If the perfect Colts and playoff motivated Cincy team gave their all, we would average over 16 games with much worse numbers defensed and rushed and then who knows if the Jets would have the #1 defense even in total yards defensed?

The bottom line is this. The Jets are a 7-7 team and with their TRUE playoff lives on the line, they allowed a rusty Matt Ryan and Michael Turner-less Falcon team to beat them AT HOME. Then they backdoored the playoff like no team has ever done in history. I have spent the entire week looking for ONE TEAM that backed into the playoff with two teams laying down in two consecutive season-ending weeks, and found NONE, making them the ONLY team in history to do so. You want to put your money on a .500 playoff team on the road in a rematch after a 37-0 laydown on national television the week before, you go right ahead. I'll be on the other side.

I am on Jets, but you are setting your self up for diaster with this BOLD prediction.

So they weren't number one in the NFC, but they were number 1 in the AFC on Defense. And they were slightly better than the team that had a 2000 yard rusher and a guy who broke the NFL record for yards from scrimmage? Who gives a shit what fans think? Bengals are have been on the slide. Those games gave Mark Sanchez something he needed, confidence. They are not going to unleash him today, it will be a great game.

After playing that many games, you really can't consider Mark Sanchez a Rookie anymore. I know it is tough to win on the road with a Rookie QB, but Jets D IS better than Bengals D. Revis Shuts down loudmouth. Front 7 will contain Benson.
