For the First time in 4+ Years I Have Local Bookies calling me asking if I Like the Bengals? >>> Becuase they have WAY TOO MUCH ACTION on the JETS coming from Down State.......

The Current Line they are Offering is NY Jets -3

Is there any news that has moved the line from -2.5 Cincy to -1 Cincy or is this attributed soley to action?

I am a long time Jet fan, don't post very much but had to comment.

It's a great write up and you hit all the main points of why the Jets could lose today. This season has been one of the toughest to watch cause every time the team showed some promise they blew it against lesser opponents, Jags, Falcons,etc. at home.

If Rex Ryan wasn't the son of a coach, he would be that loud, annoying drunk at the end of the bar spouting off about how great his team is, ready to fight anyone until he was dragged out by the owner at in the morning. But he can coach defense and he's got the team believing and that's all you want going into the playoffs.

These teams may have layed down for them but they were only down by 5 to the mighty colts. Maybe they would have lost, maybe not, but I think that game taught them how to win. How to take control of a game late and hold on to it and that's what they were lacking.

I'm taking the Jets today but nothing big. Its more of a bet against the Bengals than a play on the Jets. I don't think the Bengals are good and they're still living on hype they created week 3.

I hope you're wrong cause I want another week of Jet football. GL

Scal I agree with you on the lay-down or not analysis, but the averages were based on the 17 week period...if you were going to through out the Jets last two games than you should recalculate all teams based on a 15 week period for comparison to be more accurate.

I like GB @ plus any - 2.5 fav

exactly what Doubleup said is the whole reason the line is 2.5. NY bets more than half the united staes combined. Theres too much action on the Jets and they have to make it even out.

Stop putting stock in the falcon game, people learn from their mistakes. Is this game a lock??? NO not even close it could go either way, and the way I feel is momentum and the Jets confidence will let them squeek by on this one. 17-14.

As for Rex and his big mouth, what he says is for team confidence. He has to make them believe in themselves. He's doing it for motivation. If they lose they lose he doesnt care what he said he will still say he believed they were the best team. (he knows they're not, but his game plan is to motivate).

And for all you (including Francesa) who think they're number 1 ranking defense is a joke....numbers dont lie. It is what it is, and if you do what scali did and make them the number 2 defense WHATEVER, they are still good and its a good crutch for a lacking offense. Plus Francesa is a baby cause the Jets are the official team of ESPN New York (what an effin baby)

And last but not least get off the theory of ohhhhh this team always lets us down?????? are you kidding me....Rex Ryan hasnt lost a NY Jets playoff game, Sanchez has no wins in the playoffs.....but wait he has no loses either.....the jet teams that have let you down are no longer playing today....if you believe history from when other players were playing will help the outcome of the game...then you better cross your fingers and toes cause i'm sure that helps too.

Take the Jets straight up and thank me later......as for next week....welllll lets just say one win is better than none.

(i'm a realist) this game is not a lock for either team...these are the two weakest teams in the playoffs. Next week a write up like this may have more truth. Sorry scali sounds like your trying to help the books

What did I think when I saw this line? To quote the detective from the Goonies when he saw One-Eyed Willie's pirate ship setting sail at the end of the movie: holy mary mother of ?????!!!

I busted out laughing when I saw that!! BABY RUTHHHH?? It's really ironic because I just got finished watching that with my 6 year old daughter! She was watching it for the first time. I love showing her old movies like that....

Anyway, your brillant man! Couldn't be more spot on about the game! EVERYONE forgets about CIN's defense. Sanchez +2.5? Ummmm, don't think so Tim!

that -1 is a farce...i don't see that being offered anywhere...if it is true, it's obvious extra action on NY with the public living this Jet Defense pipe dream

You're right...the Bengals are not great by any stretch...but, with a home playoff game, there's just too much on the line here for lewis and carson...it's not put up or shut up time for the jets...it's put up or shut up time for cincy...and if they can't get it done today against a rookie QB with a team that backed in, break the team up immediately...

I want the Jets in the playoffs too...with the Jets in and Giants out, it's Jets talk all day all night and that is a rarity...i'd love to hear Rex come out with "We beat em once already so...." statement when prodded about the Colts matchup ...it's been fun...but the fun ends at 7:30 PM..... tonight....
