You are completely missing his point. He never siad he was not willing to go all-in. He just stated his frustration withb the suckout. He made a good raise to get the action heads up, and to possibly steal the flop if he completely missed it.
Yes, Helmut, it is very frustrating. Will that poor player go broke before long? YES. But to make any money in tourneys, it takes too much luck.

and after all that I wrote before in this thread I'm still thinking about making plans to go to vegas for the WSOP and play a $1,500 event and some main event sat's...
cant resist....but I still say the $ in is the Cash Games

usually have your biggest pay days in big tournaments such as those. just have to weed your way through all the donks and dodge some bullets to get far in those WSOP tournies to get to the final table and get a really good pay day. Might do a few of those myself. gl

Well I grind all week on Stars playing cash games....but I also play almost every Sunday Million.
And let me tell you the Stars Sunday Million is a carbon copy of the WSOP main event.
About 90% no clue donkeys, 7% Solid players and 3% pros.
I will also say that right before I posted for the first time in this thread I had just been knocked out of a WSOP satellite on a brutal beat so I was steaming and pissed at tournaments.
It is true that the huge paydays come from the Tournaments but it's also true that you see more Tournament players broke.
I will never stop playing in Tournaments because they are so much fun....WAY more fun that playing cash games.
Right now i'm about 95% sure I will be playing in at least one WSOP event this year....and I will probably play all the 2nd chance tourneys at night when I'm there.
Hopfully I can get my seat on Stars for the Main Event, if not then I will play some sats in Vegas and see what happens.

SportsFan - You misunderstood what I was trying to say.
I was talking about TOURNAMENT ONLY players
Fact is many Top/Pro Tournament players have losing years
Fact is very few Top/Pro Cash Game players have losing years
Of course if you can play the cash games to pay for your tournament entrys you wont go broke....but alot of people ONLY play Tournaments and nothing else.
I can list you a few "World Champions" who are broke right now and depend on backers for their entrys as we speak. Because they only play tournaments and when you start to run bad for a year or so your broke.

happens to me all the time in cash games
happens to me all the time in cash games
funny you mentioned that about cash game players....a buddy of mine only plays cash games and he says he wont even play the Sunday Million because it's to much of as grind....
of course he tells me this after a 12 hour session of multi-tabling $2 - $4 No Limit on Stars
And as of right now I am playing tournaments only.....going to try it out for a couple of months and see if I can turn a profit.....
I have been playing alot of 180 Player S-n-G's on Stars and so far so good....
Also this week I am going to really focus during the Sunday Million...
Sometime in the next few weeks I am going to check out the Tournaments at Mountaineer's brand new Poker room

well gl with the tourny grind. I tend to do whatever is really available at the time. I like to play bigger tournies online because of the amount of people that play in it and basically the "odds" your getting of getting deep into the tourny and getting a nice payout. For instance live tournies even in say Atlantic City the max amount of people you might get for a Friday 300 dollar tourny is maybe 400-600 people. For an online tourny your bound to get over 1000 people which doubles the prize pool of that live tourny. So online I like to play larger tournies and not really the SnGs but in live play cash games seem to be much better.
