anniversary of the January 6, 2021, insurrection by awarding
for the first time in his presidency the Presidential Citizens Medal
to 12 people.
The individuals include law enforcement officers who were
injured defending the Capitol, a Capitol Police officer who died
the day after rioters stormed the building and election workers
who rejected corrupt efforts by former President Donald Trump
to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Biden is set to deliver remarks and host a ceremony at the
White House honoring the dozen individuals chosen for having
made “exemplary contributions to our democracy” and
shown “courage and selflessness”

I agree. Two ugly days in our history. Today is a very sad day of reflection on one of them.
But I am not undecided.
The day my republican commander-in-chief sat in a classroom while our nation was attacked from outside terrorists, was indeed a shocking and horrible day! I was still in service at the time, at sea, and I can't even begin to describe the level of concern and yes, fear! most of us felt.
But the day my republican commander-in-chief sat in a TV lounge actually enjoying the domestic terrorist attack on our nation which he incited!!!! while threatening to end our entire democracy in a coup is unlike any other in sheer magnitude.
That my own commander-in-chief would turn traitor and attack our own country is far worse even than Pearl Harbor.

But only 1 of those was done by people from our own country,that made it even more sickening.

Having your country being attacked is the same feeling.It doesn't really matter who are the ones doing the attacking,being attacked is being attacked.One might be worse as far as the amount of damage and deaths.But the other one is worse when you realize,it's people from your own country who are the ones doing the attacking.
