Great logic you two..

If you do not include the largest voting state in the country then Trump wins easy..

What kind of stupid logic is that? It goes against all of these so-called constitution ramblings you guys have from time to time.

With the EC a vote is not equal from state to state, you cannot exclude California or Penn or Florida or Arizona...that logic is just plain stupid.

I say cut loose the EC and let the votes flow into a national count, forget the state and district for a presidential election..then MY vote down here means something and a repub vote in Calif means something.

This isnt difficult...but please spare the "If Calif didnt count" garbage, it is beneath both of you.

amending the constitution is about the most difficult feats known to politicians,
it isn't some okie dokie thing as executive action or repeal of an executive order.
why would smaller states give up their piece of the election. California has the most electorates any way.

might be the exact difference of Liberal vs Conservative though

Conservatives will not relinquish a better position for nothing in return

even if it is the right thing.

Liberals would give their position away for the greater good.

To make any argument that HRC won the popular vote is flawed simply because the objective is not to win the popular vote, but to win the EC.
It's the equivalent of a gambler saying the team he bet on gained more yards than their opponent, yet his team still lost the game.

Also, there's a lot of chatter about HRC's "significant" win in the popular vote.
Another way to look at it is that she won the popular vote by about **4%.
Trump won the EC vote by about **26%
Trumps win is much more significant

Interesting how you put so many words in my mouth .. words that I not only did not say, but words that I would not say because I believe them to be false.

I wasn't talking about California, but since you brought it up I will offer my opinion as it relates to the point I so aptly made in post #48.

If the end game is to win the EC vote, you campaign accordingly.
If the end game is to win the popular vote, you campaign accordingly.
The 2 campaigns are distinctly different.

Trump knew he could not win California, so spent $0 there.
This is called 'campaigning to win the Electoral College vote' 


If the election was going to be determined by the popular vote, then I'm sure Trump would have campaigned in California, not to "win the state" as you sarcastically pointed out, but simply to gain some votes.
I trust that this makes sense.

I will not address the shots/insults that you aimed my way.
I recognize that you are still frazzled by the election results, so I forgive you ... but I will say this ...

I know how you are, Ive seen plenty and I know that it is not at all the extent of your angst..that is easy to see.

When someone goes off the deep end as you have several times in public it is easy to tell that there is much more not seen and I am quite sure that is a fact with regards to you.

I think it is wise for you to stick to other message boards and the penalty box when hurling insults and crude comments as you have, that suits your weak personality and your inability to hold a heated or pointed debate without cracking.

All these years you have never seen me act even remotely as crude and disgusting as you and many of your friends, that is in no way a sign of what my abilities are with regard to debating, what it shows is that some people are able to stay above such things irregardless of really vile and personal attacks, and others are just not capable.

Just because someone isnt ruthless and disgusting doesnt mean they are not quite capable of what you are suggesting but in a respectful and civil way.

The small states are not going to vote for the popular vote and become fly over states.  Not worth talking about.  Your new President is taking over soon, get behind him because this is your country.  The better he does the better you do.  Stop the whining already, is this going to go on for eight more years from you?

 neither have a majority merely a plurality so it goes to the house of representatives and republicans pick trump anyway.

So are you saying you like the EC because you got the guy in you wanted or you think the whole system is in working order from an election perspective?

Should a vote mean the same irregardless of where you live or not? To me that is the only issue.

Anywhere in the country a vote should not be negated from another because you live in a state that is slighted strongly to either party, that is anti-freedom and any system that rewards vote negating should be improved.

Which is exactly why we have the EC and not the will of an easily manipulated populace and thus prevent entrenched power. want   Which becomes so much easier to accomplish when you can make your whole platform handouts, illegal alien voters, and a media totally complicit.  Thats the road to total control. You want a dictator in the future of this country, you go ahead and get rid of the EC

We live in a republic, it's not a true democracy and it never has been.

I don't understand why anyone would want a government voted on purely by its largesse, which is exactly what you would get. Why do you think Cali and NY are so blue all the time? These are states ran by an elite few and the rest are dirt poor who live off handouts. Why would anyone want a country like that?  

It's insane. And its also why democracies of the past always died. 
Founders wrote about exactly this. The irony is some would say the EC was there to  prevent a guy like Trump from winning. But that didn't happen because of the the total disaster named Hillary Clinton.

You should direct your anger at the DNC for allowing itself to be rigged in favor of the worst candidate in modern history.  And more specifically, John Podesta and his minions who had a Billion dollar treasure chest, a popular incumbent POTUS, and an entire media syndicate fully in their corner.
