Kristopher Purcell, who worked in the Office of Communications in the White House and in the State Department during the Bush administration, told CNN that about 200 former officials and those who were part of the Bush campaigns have joined the group.

"A lot of us who worked in government, who have held positions of public integrity, we know what normal is," he told CNN. "We're seeing now what abnormal is and we're seeing the damage it can do to the country. We're seeing the way it can divide the country."

"The reason we're supporting former Vice President Biden," he continued, "is we believe he can bring stability to the country and honor and integrity back to the White House. The leadership and moral authority of the United States has been incredibly damaged."

By Republicans you mean the "Never Trumpers ".  They never liked him to begin with.

What's funny about your thread is that democracy is at stake,  just not for the reasons you pointed out.  I'm sure most people can connect the dots and realize that the same party that is affiliated with city take overs is also the same party calling for the defunding of police departments.   That doesn't sound like an endorsement for democracy grounded in law and order,.... that sounds like mob mentality  

A group of Republicans opposed to President Donald Trump, including some who served in his administration, is launching a super PAC to mobilize disaffected GOP voters to back his opponent, Joe Biden.

Right Side PAC, led by Matt Borges, former chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, will target voters in battleground states with direct mail, phone calls and digital messaging promoting Biden’s moderate record and character.

Unlike the Lincoln Project, a group set up by Republican consultants that’s spent almost $2 million on televison and digital ads attacking Trump, Borges says Right Side PAC is aiming to convince voters who’ve already turned against Trump that it’s better to pull the lever for Biden than vote for a third party or sit out the election.

The super PAC, first reported by Axios, will initially focus on voters in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all states Trump won by narrow margins in 2016.

This last group hasn’t given itself a name yet, and includes the former Bush homeland security adviser Ken Wainstein, and John Bellinger III, who served in the state department. Funny how many people can be so UNobjective  when it comes to actual real FACTS being presented which paint a negative perception of anything THEY chose to support.  Partisanship typically leads to wilfull blindness, and even deeper entrenchment to one's beliefs and even preconceptions - regardless reality (facts). 

I recall a number of times during my 15 years as a baseball/fastball umpire (high school & adult level back in the 80s) where a pitcher would toss one in the dirt, 6" off the plate - and since the batter didn't move, I hollered "BALL!"...but the pitcher's dugout would erupt in indignant outrage over that "unfair & biased" call, voicing all manner of disparaging and vulgar remarks...most were visibly angry and bitter. 

Arguing a close call in baseball, or an "opinion" in conversations, is one thing. 

But actually dismissing or disregarding FACTS (and reality) to stubbornly cling to one's chosen narrative, is irrational
