" The formation of the group is the latest example of efforts being made by anti-Trump Republicans to defeat the President in November.
"For four years, we have watched with grave concern as the party we loved has morphed into a cult of personality that little resembles the Party of Lincoln and Reagan," Kirksey said in a statement.
Kristopher Purcell, who worked in the Office of Communications in the White House and in the State Department during the Bush administration, told CNN that about 200 former officials and those who were part of the Bush campaigns have joined the group.
"A lot of us who worked in government, who have held positions of public integrity, we know what normal is," he told CNN. "We're seeing now what abnormal is and we're seeing the damage it can do to the country. We're seeing the way it can divide the country."
"The reason we're supporting former Vice President Biden," he continued, "is we believe he can bring stability to the country and honor and integrity back to the White House. The leadership and moral authority of the United States has been incredibly damaged."

By Republicans you mean the "Never Trumpers ". They never liked him to begin with.
What's funny about your thread is that democracy is at stake, just not for the reasons you pointed out. I'm sure most people can connect the dots and realize that the same party that is affiliated with city take overs is also the same party calling for the defunding of police departments. That doesn't sound like an endorsement for democracy grounded in law and order,.... that sounds like mob mentality

A group of Republicans opposed to President Donald Trump, including some who served in his administration, is launching a super PAC to mobilize disaffected GOP voters to back his opponent, Joe Biden.
Right Side PAC, led by Matt Borges, former chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, will target voters in battleground states with direct mail, phone calls and digital messaging promoting Biden’s moderate record and character.
Unlike the Lincoln Project, a group set up by Republican consultants that’s spent almost $2 million on televison and digital ads attacking Trump, Borges says Right Side PAC is aiming to convince voters who’ve already turned against Trump that it’s better to pull the lever for Biden than vote for a third party or sit out the election.
The super PAC, first reported by Axios, will initially focus on voters in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all states Trump won by narrow margins in 2016.

Rank-And-File Republicans Turn On Trump
In New Effort To Block His Reelection
"I'd vote for a tuna fish sandwich before I’d vote for Donald Trump again,” says one voter in the video testimonials.
A new ad campaign puts Republican voters front and center to talk about President Donald Trump ? but it’s not an endorsement. Just the opposite. They’re all explaining why they can’t vote for Trump, and why many plan to cast ballots for Democrat Joe Biden - even when they disagree on policy - in the new campaign called Republican Voters Against Trump.
The group ? a project of Defending Democracy Together, a collection of anti-Trump conservatives ? says it has nearly 100 video testimonials so far with more to come.
And they’re planning to spend $10 million promoting them across social media as well as on television, with some appearing on Fox News next week.
“There are millions of voters who used to be reliable Republicans but are disgusted by the Trump administration,” Longwell said. “Some are upset about the skyrocketing debt. Others about how he has debased the office.”
But the one thing that unites them all, she added, is “wanting the country to move on from this deeply un-American presidency.”

Any good and wise commander in the field will say:
'you should NEVER fight a war on two fronts'
trump may be the first ever incumbent president to be in not only
a battle against his political opponent (Biden) but now
also facing many, MANY mutinous members from his own ranks!
And these REPUBLICANS have valid reason to oppose him!
Keep in mind we are talking about a "sociopath" and documented pathological liar;
who was IMPEACHED for treason; who is largely responsible for a deep recession,
record UNemployment, record deficit & national debt, record debt-to-GDP ratio and
presiding over 131,000+ unnecessary/premature Americans dead and counting.
PLUS:
record departures from his failed administration,
record number of sexual assault accusers;
record number of marriages to immigrant wives;
record number of children born to 3 different wives;
record number of illicit affairs with PORN stars while married;
record number of business bankruptcies - while calling every critic "a failure";
record amount of money declared lost by a single taxpayer;
record number of times he has invited, begged,or extorted foreign leaders
to help him with US election (3) in direct violation of our laws;
record for insulting veterans and Gold Star families;
record for number of press secretaries (5) in just over 3 years;
record for days spent at his own private properties at massive taxpayer expense;
record for leisurely golfing excursions in first 3.5 years;
record for LOSING the popular vote to a woman he hates;
record for having a member of his extended family, a psychologist,
giving a unflattering, truthful account about him prior to an election
in which he is already trailing BADLY in virtually every poll.
** The Lincoln Project
** 43 Alumni for Biden (superpac)
** Republican Voters Against Trump
** Right Side PAC (superpac)
** A new set of Republican national security officials has also emerged in opposition to Trump.
This last group hasn’t given itself a name yet, and includes the former Bush homeland security adviser Ken Wainstein, and John Bellinger III, who served in the state department. The group is looking to rally national security officials away from Trump – either by supporting Biden or writing in someone else.

This site is filled with so much Democratic propaganda lately....post after post after post.....all by the same trio of Dems preaching the same agenda every day.
It might be time to look inward and discover what you are fighting for without considering how much you "hate Trump".
All I will say is this.....be careful what you wish for.

Are we talking about the same Republicans that claim Democrats use scare tactics about coronavirus and inner-city unrest to attack the Democrats?
Oh, no; we would never resort to scare tactics, we are the voice of the people. We LOVE our country, not like those commie Democrats. Soon they will claim that if Biden is elected November 3rd, you get communism January 21st.
BUT WE WOULD NEVER USE SCARE TACTICS. (need emoticon of a guy upchucking)

Funny how many people can be so UNobjective when it comes to actual real FACTS being presented which paint a negative perception of anything THEY chose to support. Partisanship typically leads to wilfull blindness, and even deeper entrenchment to one's beliefs and even preconceptions - regardless reality (facts).
I recall a number of times during my 15 years as a baseball/fastball umpire (high school & adult level back in the 80s) where a pitcher would toss one in the dirt, 6" off the plate - and since the batter didn't move, I hollered "BALL!"...but the pitcher's dugout would erupt in indignant outrage over that "unfair & biased" call, voicing all manner of disparaging and vulgar remarks...most were visibly angry and bitter.
Arguing a close call in baseball, or an "opinion" in conversations, is one thing.
But actually dismissing or disregarding FACTS (and reality) to stubbornly cling to one's chosen narrative, is irrational

Yes, that is correct.
Trump has presided over the worst economy since WWII.
And here is just a few of his, um, "benchmarks"...
A "sociopath" and documented pathological liar;
who was IMPEACHED for treason;
record UNemployment since WWII (14.7%; expected to hurt service sector worst in 2020 - women & minorities);
record 133,000+ unnecessary/premature Americans dead, and counting.
record for being informed of Russian bounties on American heads but refusing to do anything about it since learning of it;
all-time record national debt which will hurt the country for years;
PLUS even more trump benchmarks:
record departures from his failed administration,
record number of sexual assault accusers;
record number of marriages to immigrant wives;
record number of children born to 3 different wives;

So....I shall remove those goldie oldies and we will BEGIN with these, since he took office:

Bush. Former President George w.w. Or George W. pronounced dubbaya. George Dubbaya Bush Jr.
Weapons of mass destruction Bush ? Put us in a war without even thinking. The George W. who bankrupted America and put it in a recession George? Same George who conveniently sat in a kindergarten class while the two tallest buildings in America were being attacked and leveled ?
Or are we talking about the George W. Who told the Iraqi’s where and when he was sending our sons to die in a war that should never have happened. That Bush, right ?
For the record. Biden called Trump a racist when he stopped million of Chinese from flying to America. Biden would have killed a million more Americans if he was President.
Now suddenly this Bush is against Trump and you are lauding the fact ?
God have mercy.

Did Joe Biden - in context of speaking about travel restrictions announced for anyone wishing to enter USA having been to China in preceeding 14 days (exempting of course the more than 40,000 Americans who had been to China including many directly from Wuhan -- of which many would have been infected-carriers but Asymptomatic, which trump allowed in) - state about trump that he was [quoting exact term] "a racist" ???
PolitiFACT investigated this claim and gave their ruling:
Speaking of his restriction on travel from China, Trump said often,
" Biden calling me xenophobic. …He called me a racist,
because of the fact that he felt it was
a racist thing to stop people from China coming in."
We rate it Mostly False!
