Uvalde mass shooter owned two AR15 type assault rifles, he carried seven 30 rounds magazines (mags) in killing 19 children and two teachers.
The Uvalde shooter had equipped LEGALLY, yes legally, as the same quantity as seven 30 rounds of mags a U.S. soldier will carry, two more mags than an Australia or German soldier carries*. 18 years old street kid legally buys and owns same fire power as a U.S. solider, only in America, it only happens in America.

There is so much conflicting information right now one can only speculate. It is now said the gunman shot at the school from outside for 12 minutes and then walked through an unlocked back door and then into a classroom. Can see why police arriving did not storm the building. That would likely result in more deaths. Seems they treated it as a hostage situation. And it may have been for awhile, we don't know yet. Maybe the killer held hostages and then later freaked out?

Read now the killer opened fire the moment he walked in. Those kids were dead before police even arrived it appears. How horrific.

Doesn't sound like a hostage situation. It sounds like an active shooter situation, involving children. Sounds like police were afraid to risk their own lives to save children, which is literally their job.
Firemen don't always go charging into a burning building. They have to think about the integrity of s structure. Sometimes they have to knock hole in the building to vent first. And sadly, sometimes they have to stand down and let people die. This is another level though. Many love to talk that, "Good guy with a gun..." bullshit. Many of us think the answer is arming overworked, untrained teachers, making 25K a year. Many of us want to turn elementary schools into prisons, complete with bars and armed guards. Yet her we have many "good guys with guns," trained officers of the law, and they let this kid rampage. They will say it was to mitigate the loss of life. And they'd be telling the truth. The loss of their own lives. Not these kids. Did a "good guy with a gun" even stop this kid or did he kill himself?
And make no mistake. I'm a gun enthusiast, and former member of the NRA. We need gun law reform. Nothing drastic. I don't want magazine limitations. I don't want the end of gun shows. I love gun shows. We just need comprehensive background checks, including checking social media posts, and character references, and some semblance of psych evaluation.

Your right,once you hear him shooting the weapon in the school,how do they figure that it's a hostage situation.I gotta be honest Stu i don't know much about gun shows besides what I read,but isn't there a way around background checks if you purchase a firearm at a gun show?

The fantasy world that you have created for yourself has brought you very out of touch with the real world. The one 'decent' teacher you had probably was the one that let you coast while the others actually tried to make you learn and do something. Private schools means he was raised in a fairly well-off house hold, potentially rich house hold. And you can draw tons more from the post but we don't need to go to far into detail
