It's funny too because Detox Meds constantly claims that mental health is the primary cause of these mass shootings and not guns. However, according to his logic, the Constitution says nothing about the government being responsible for mental or psychological health of citizens, so apparently mental health should just be ignored and disregarded by politicians, state actors, and police, since there is no constitutional obligation to enhance mental health of the populace.
That appears to be his logic. It's flawed of course, but it is apparent.

Good idea to suggest owning a gun should be like owning a car. Generally, most people agree on what to do to reduce gun violence. Universal background checks and restraining orders help to reduce gun access to risky people that show warning signs. A ban on assault weapons and high capacity ammunition magazines. Support a culture of gun safety such as mandatory training. Increase funding for research on reducing gun violence. Invest in smart gun technology. End legal immunity for gun manufacturers. Raising age to buy weapons would be an important step.

Authorities in New York have announced a 16-year-old high school student was arrested on Friday for threatening a mass shooting.
"The teen was arrested for making a terroristic threat after he made a Wednesday Instagram post on his “Bellport Scholars” page that warned there could be a shooting at Bellport High School the next day, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office," NY Post reported Friday. He was also banned from social media.

We cannot count on flawed cops and school resource officers to protect kids from teenagers with assault rifles.
We cannot wait 40 minutes for a janitor to open the door to a classroom.
The "good guy" with a gun fantasy is also total bullshit. We had good guys with guns onsite & they failed.
One door access for schools is great until you have to evacuate during a fire.
There will always be mistakes and incompetence and even cowardice. What has to change is the access to these weapons of mass destruction. There is no justifiable reason that they should not be banned. or at least I haven't heard any.

The Atlantic reveals the real reason why US doesn't have gun control is because of the erosion of majority rule in congress. Senate filibuster provides veto of national rule to a minority of states. Senate republicans have represented majority of US population only 2 years since 1980. But GOP has controlled senate majority for 22 of 42 years. In other words, congress is dysfunctional because of tyranny by minority.

I would like to know what’s happening to the millions of rifles currently on the streets before giving up my right to buy one.
I would also like to know what the plan is for getting guns out of criminals hands before giving up my rights. Stop and Frisk in every inner city across America would be a good start since historically it’s been so effective.
I would also like to see more people guilty of violent crimes put in prison before giving up my rights. Too many far left DA’s are fighting for the criminals instead of fighting for innocent children and tax payers.
I would also like to see the government workers giving up what type of guns they can possess and carry. If the population has to give up certain arms they should have to as well.
The left won’t solve anything. Murders will continue to skyrocket in their cities. Children will continue to be killed in their cities. The only difference will be that law abiding citizens won’t be able to buy AR-15 type guns.
If this kid had 4 handguns with 18 rounds in each gun he still would have killed a ton of kids.
20,000 gun homicides per year and everyone’s attention and resources will go towards solving 1% of the problem.
Just a bunch of virtue signaling and nothing will be solved … as usual.
