These inner city environments are often war zones with children growing up in violence and resulting in ptsd like mentality. This poverty culture lacks education, good early childhood care and development, role models for success, connection with the criminal justice and other systems from an early age, this list goes on.
Putting more guns won't solve the fundamental problems of the inner cities nor would a change in partisan politics. It's time to get real folks. Politics, and politicians can't fix this. It starts with the parents, the family, culture and environment. It's not something that more handouts or less handouts will fix. To think that more guns would mean less deaths of innocent people would apply the same way as another context doesn't work. But to address the real problem would be to address the poverty and cultural issue. There is a racial component to it but to me the blm movement has it wrong in that the result of black people and police isn't just racism of black people being targeted but it is a more complex problem with no easy solution like putting more guns into the community or shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic with partisan change.
I am also not sure how hospitals profit. Especially in areas where people may not be insured. If anything they lose money and resources eating costs of these trauma patients. Maybe I'm wrong but can you explain the logic of your statement?

But as I said before, this is a complex problem that neither democrats or republicans can solve and solve alone with government. This is a key problem with those that are caught in a polarized view point of one party being the problem and the other being the solution.
In my experince in working with inner city individuals and families, I honestly believe that government and partisan parties alone are not the solution. In fact I would argue that those obsessed with saying one party is the problem and their party is the solution is a part of the problem.
It is such a complex issue as it is cultural, economic, environmental, political, racial, historical and so much goes into it But solutions do not always seem logical or make sense to those not in it. It is easy to stand on the outside and judge and pronosticating me problems and solutions.
One example would be housing for the homeless population that is dual diagnosis in that they have both a mental illness and drug problem. I always assumed that if you get them to manage their mental illness and get off the drugs than they will be able to be housed. If not they are not ready for stable housing and it will fall apart. But what reality shows us is quite the opposite.
The best outcomes happen when you offer housing first and the right supports that the individuals are then able to address their drug and mental illness issues more sucessfully in a safe and stable environment. That treatment works better once the person is housed and that creating safety and stability is key. This is a key piece of what is missing in the inner cities in their families, in their neighborhoods and in their culture, safety and stability. And neither party is going to just make that happen. So to argue about which party is better is missing the point entirely.
