Colo Supremes: Insurrectionist Trump doesn’t belong in our primary

Just to be clear, Republicans filed this lawsuit. Here is a direct quote my friends:

“My fellow plaintiffs and I brought this case to continue to protect the right to free and fair elections enshrined in our Constitution and to ensure Colorado Republican primary voters are only voting for eligible candidates. Today’s win does just that,” said petitioner and former Republican majority leader of the Colorado House and Senate Norma Anderson. “Long before this lawsuit was filed, I had already read Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and concluded that it applied to Donald Trump, given his actions leading up to and on January 6th. I am proud to be a petitioner, and gratified that the Colorado Supreme Court arrived at the same conclusion we all did.”

Democrats had about as much to do with bringing this suit as they did with Matt Gaetz challenging the speakership of Kevin McCarthy.

And I think that’s the point - if you gave any competitive politician a chance to kneecap Trump, with the potential for personal gain - they would take that chance 70% of the time. Chances like that do not present themselves frequently. 

Nikki Haley is smiling tonight. Tim Scott may be reconsidering his options tonight. Ted Cruz may be launching a revenge campaign tonight.

This is where the oversimplification of red/blue team politics fails. Not everyone’s a lefty lib, not everyone is a righty fascist.

Throw that out the window. Politics is the equivalent of a golf tournament - you may be in the same general category, but if you’re in the hunt you’re doing everything you can to level up and take home the trophy.

Nationwide, dozens of lawsuits have been filed to disqualify Trump.  Other states might follow Colorado lead.  Trump appeals can try to overturn interpretations of the law in higher courts.  However factual findings are likely to stand.  Colorado court has determined that  January 6 attack on capitol is an insurrection, Trump has engaged in insurrection, insurrection ban applies to presidents and Trump speech inciting violence isn't protected by first amendment.  Bogus for Trump supporters to claim election interference because none of the plaintiffs have been charged with election interference in any court of law.  Republican efforts to overturn 2020 election is the actual election interference.  No one should be above the law.

And yet they will still vote for Trump,  because they realize the current  "" shitshow of high inflation "" is not something they want for another 4 years 

It really goes to show you who in this forum actually reads, anything.

Inflation has been receding for two months. That’s why the fed didn’t raise rates last week.

You do remember why Trump raised bloody hell every time the fed considered raising rates when he was president, right? 

Funny how Biden, or any other president for the last 25 years, never did that. It’s almost like Trump wanted to push inflation as far down the road as possible. 

Those of us who were raised by fiscally-responsible parents in the 80s remember that cheap tricks only worsen inflation. They don’t make it better.

The stock market has been up all week due to optimism about the economy. Funny how the last guy bragged about that a lot, huh?

Seriously,  where have you been the last few weeks ?  I've posted repeatedly that lower-income Americans are "" still "" getting crushed by high inflation.   You act as though falling inflation means " falling prices ". Lol.
