The boss says many of her Canadian customers are headed home about 3 weeks earlier than usual with the thinking if they get sick, they rather be sick in Canada. Oddly enough, US rental customers are staying in South Florida instead of heading home early mainly because the weather has been so great. Golf courses are still open as well for now. Most of these customers drive to Florida from their home locations, so they don't hassle with the mess at the airports.
My wife manages rental properties & is working with customers to provide a % of their rental cost in a "rebate" for leaving early to be used next season. My wife is a sharp cookie by showing some compassion while also having customers chase the rebate carrot.

Dr. Joseph Fair, an MSNBC science contributor, accused White House coronavirus coordinator Deborah Birx of telling the “opposite” of the truth about the accuracy of the World Health Organization’s coronavirus tests.
During a White House briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic, Birx insisted that the United States had not acquired World Health Organization tests because they were faulty.
“What’s unfortunate — they did mention, the first tests, the W.H.O. tests, as inaccurate,” Fair said following the press conference. “That’s actually the opposite of what happened.”
“The reason the W.H.O didn’t offer us the test is because they only offer them for free to impoverished nations,” he explained. “We have to buy them. And the tests that were out, that were inaccurate and [showed] false positives and false negatives as Dr. Birx mentioned were actually the CDC tests, not the commercial tests.”
“So, that’s the opposite of actually what happened,” Fair said.
These are two respected people who have fought diseases their whole professional career. One of them has to be mistaken here.

We are going to learn how to run our small businesses more effectively, provide better, friendlier service at a reduced cost where everyone benefits. After owners get over this initial fear, innovation and further automation will take place & owners will realize again their employees are their most important assets. Owners will learn again that the customer helps pay the salaries for him and his employees. Some have forgotten this because they are so busy trying to make a buck they don't realize the lost revenue when they don't treat people with dignity and respect. Many small companies are not going to make it through this emergency. Many will become unemployed and will need help identifying the skill sets they have that can be applied in other positions. Some may experience a family breakup due to the stress & financial situations. Those planning to retire this year or soon may have to rethink that plan. Some of us may lose people we truly love and respect. These loses will change our lives moving forward.
I also believe we will become kinder and more aware of our fellow human beings. I can see it already in grocery stores, gas lines and parking lots. I saw a college kid carrying groceries to the car of an elderly couple; a random person was handing our little packets, you usually receive at a rib or wing joint, to people in the gas line @ Costco today.
