Trump announced his appointment (Fri) of Moncef Slaoui, former exec with Glaxo-SmithKline to lead "operation Warp Speed", Trump's plan to fast track the development of covid19 vaccines.
The operation Warp Speed (still lmao) program is focusing on 4 vaccines, with the hope of testing & producing 100 mill doses by Oct, 200 mill by December & 300 mill by Jan 2021.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper was more adament, stating "winning matters and we will deliver, by the end of the year, a vaccine."
Trump said Thursday that because of the "massive job to give this vaccine, the military is now being mobilized." The appointment of Dr. Slaoui is an indication that the Trump admin approves of the former executives efforts to develop vaccines and his partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, (BMGF).
