Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is leaving the Democratic Party and registering as a political independent, she told CNN’s Jake Tapper in an exclusive TV interview.

“I’ve registered as an Arizona independent. I know some people might be a little bit surprised by this, but actually, I think it makes a lot of sense,” Sinema said in a Thursday interview with Tapper in her Senate office.

“I’ve never fit neatly into any party box. I’ve never really tried.  It's just a "buzzword" for the ignorant masses.... it draws an inherently emotional response based from our upbringing as Americans.... People / sheep draw emotion from the word when used in these contexts that blind them from the actual truths at hand.  The majority of Americans (and Canadians) couldn't define "democracy" if you stuck a mic in front of them and offered them a hundo bill.

camps and Stalin's gulags were also the "party faithful" who
said or did the wrong thing - just once. All you have to do is
look at how Trump and his cronies attack former allies at the
lightest criticism.
Democracy has it's faults, but it is the best form of government
humankind has achieved. It took us a long time to get here.
