At a Spokane fundraiser for Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers on 30-July-2018, House Intelligence Commitee Chairman and Trump shill Devin Nunes made it clear that Republicans must choose their priorities within the limited amount of time they have before the midterms. Those priorities include pushing Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh , through Senate confirmation, and potentially making another run at impeaching Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
Devin Nunes also admitted collusion can be a crime
a member of the "Fuse Washington" progressive group, who paid the $250 entry fee to attend the dinner, recorded Nunes and released the audio
"If [Jeff] Sessions won't un-recuse, and Mueller won't clear the president, we're the only ones, whish is really the danger
That's why I keep, and thank you for saying it by the way, I mean we have to keep all these seats.
we have to keep the majority. If we do not keep the majority, all of this goes away"
According to Nunes, if a campaign received and released stolen emails from a foreign government — he used a hypothetical example of McMorris Rodgers getting secret information from Portugal, where his ancestors are from — there would be a criminal element to that.” These comments go against the thrust of a frequent claim made by President Donald Trump, that “collusion is not a crime.” As Nunes concedes, collusion could rise to the level of being a conspiracy with a foreign power, which is criminal.
On the evening of July 25, House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows, R-S.C., Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio; and nine co-sponsors introduced a resolution to impeach Rosenstein, who appointed sepcial counset Robert Mueller. The resolution does not have the support of the House Republican leadership.
House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., commented a day after the resolution was introduced: "Do I support impeachment of Rosenstein? No, I do not.”
