 To answer your question, there is no difference, since today's DEM Party is  ruled by " progressives. "   Show me a DEM policymaker that doesn't subscribe to DEI, ESG, this woke nonsense,  and unlimited fiscal spending .  They all vote en masse for the same thing.  Joe Manchin was about the closest thing to a " Democrat " , and now he is leaving.   That should tell you something.

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell began the August 27, 2019 edition of his 10pm ET Last Word program by teasing 9pm host Rachel Maddow as her show was concluding. “I may have some information,” he promised, pertaining to Donald Trump’s business dealings with Germany’s Deutsche Bank.

While O’Donnell acknowledged that his “information” came from only a single source, and that neither he nor anyone at NBC News had confirmed it, he inexplicably chose to air his inflammatory allegation on live television: “This single source close to Deutsche Bank has told me that Donald Trump’s loan documents there show that he has co-signers. That’s how he was able to obtain those loans. And that the co-signers are Russian oligarchs....That would explain, it seems to me, every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin, if true, and I stress the ‘if true’ part of this.”

In context, Trump did not say in the passage above that the virus itself was a hoax. He instead said that Democrats' criticism of his administration's response to it was a hoax.

I for one do not expect the elected leaders to protect me from a virus and that includes Trump or Biden.

What I do expect are our health care leaders to have a plan and the answers. They failed. H1N1 back in 2009 affected the younger generation more than the older as many elders had seen that type of virus before and had built-in immunities. So with blinders on our health professionals generated a plan for the next virus. Put the recovering infected in nursing homes.That is why Michigan and New York did just that. They dusted off the 2009 Obama era plan because it wasn't a Trump era plan. Not that Trump had anything to do with writing such a plan. Nevermind all data from Italy showing the elderly most susecptable. How fucking stupid. Thousands needlessly died.

Then after the vaccine rolled out both the CDC and Fauci expressed concerns that a mutation could get pass the vaccine and we would lose all we gained. They said this in February and March of 2021. The Delta mutation had already spread through India and was at that time entering Europe. Fauci and the CDC knew this already and knew it was just a matter of time. Meanwhile our Southern Border remained virtually wide open. The first Delta positive in the U.S. was in Texas, a Southern border state, on May 20th, 2021. On July 19th, 2021 the UK announced 40% of COVID patients in the hospital were the vaccinated. The fears had come true, a mutant/variant was getting past the vaccine designed specifically for the original COVID. 

So how did this Admin react to Delta? Just two days after the UK announcement Biden on CNN said "get the vaccine and you won't even get COVID." Then the President's press secretary had press conferences displaying charts from Ohio and Colorado showing 99% of infections were the unvaccinated. The data used was ALL PRE-DELTA and included the huge January 2021 surge when 96%+ of the country was unvaccinated. WHY SUCH AN OUTLANDISH LIE WHEN DELTA WAS TAKING IT'S GRIP?

I would agree what Trump was saying was a bit sci-fi. There are ultra-violet light treatments to kill cancer cells. And they do suggest injections of antiseptic to kill cancers.
