A decade ago, Twitter and other social social media companies were havens of free speech. They learned that companies didn't want their ads running against violent threats, misinformation, hate, incitement and abuse. Years later, Twitter worked on becoming a responsible social media company through a moderation system. The fact that Musk wants to change that suggests he is focused on irresponsible social media. Without moderation, problem is that free speech could turn Twitter into a cesspool again according to Center for business and human rights at New York university.
You people can leave and start your own company.
Elon Musks new company doesn’t have to listen to liberal think tanks crying about losing control of an information platform.

Tesla Stock Plunge Wipes Out $114 Billion In Value.
I am very confused why you are clapping about this? Just because you do not like Musk? I figured that you would support Tesla. A lot of companies have had their stock fall lately. Why be happy about that? Just because someone has one or two things about them you do not like does not mean you cannot support other things they do or the other folks his companies provide jobs for, etc. I could see if you were to root for Twitter stock to fall before, but Tesla?

National association of colored people has asked Twitter to keep Trump's account suspended. Censorship is inevitable in internet age because of disinformation, hate speech, libel, offensive content and other things on social media. .
Why should one group be allowed to put pressure on to suspend one individual to be banned? What happens when another group decides another individual should be banned? Eventually, everyone could be banned one person at a time -- simply because groups of people are upset over words.
Censorship is NOT inevitable. When something is not completely empirical -- who gets to decide if it is disinformation? Who would determine if something is hate speech? Some people are very easily offended by words. Look at this forum for examples -- people will go straight to name calling and even worse 'hate speech', because they are 'offended'. It is not like people are stating that 2+2 is NOT 4. They are stating views and/or stances. If it were so easy to prove them as dis-informative -- then folks would simply do that -- then those folks would slink away when proven wrong. The fact of the matter is that THERE are things that are fluid and dynamic and complex and need discussing. A reasonable person should be able to distinguish between conspiracy stuff or extremist views and move on. But to dismiss that there are people like that by trying to silence them does not achieve anything. It makes it seem disingenuous when someone wants to silence someone for doubting, say, man-made global climate change as a looming disaster -- yet, promote a male that should be allowed to identify as a female, when that IS dis-informative to folks because it is biologically proven to be wrong.
You cannot have it both ways, it comes off as hypocritical.

“@ElonMusk: The fearful, hysterical reaction by those in power and their MSM mouthpieces to all Americans being allowed to exercise our freedom of speech exposes their tyrannical tendencies, their fear of the American people, and their hate for our Constitution/Bill of Rights.”

We dumped Tesla because we don't want an owner that has to give his attention to space projects, electric cars & social media which he knows very little about.
Twitter’s stock is trading at $48.64, a 10.1% discount to Musk’s offer. This appears to be a large discount and experienced investors are skeptical the deal will close, which I will be happy to see.
We will certainly rebuy TSLA before it goes back up to $950.

It appears as though the left is quite unhappy and angry. As a group, they are like a den of vipers. Individually, the want to antagonize with nasty affinity.

Reuters report that Musk might not buy Twitter as he has backed out of past deals before. Tesla stock price has been falling because Musk may sell shares to fund Twitter purchase. If Musk don't buy Twitter, Tesla price gain could compensate for penalty from no deal. Since half of Tesla cars are manufactured in China which hates Twitter, China could hold Twitter to ransom. European union could ban Twitter if it fails to moderate illegal or harmful content. In the US, other technology companies could threaten Twitter such as Apple which controls apps allowed.

I think I got you. You dumped it because you don't want a CEO stretched too thin -- even though he doesn't run the whole thing but has good folks under him running the day-to-day operations.
But you will get it, now that you think it is on sale -- even though the CEO will then have an additional company to be stretched even thinner with.
So principles only take you so far -- until greed comes into play.
So you sold Tesla when it was at what price? Because if you didn't sell the other day when it was 1100 and buy yesterday when it was 880 -- I am not sure what the plan is?
While I see Tesla as an ideal stock to day trade, with options, I do not see it as a good stock to try to time with buying and selling the shares. I would be careful trying to time it. If you think it has upside -- just buy it and hold it. The whole market is down -- so, timing the market is tricky enough. Trying to time one particular stock will be even trickier.
But good luck to you either way.

For example, it is up $21 pre-market at 902. It could very easily hit your mark very early today and you would miss out. Miss out even more than if you had got back in at 880 yesterday, etc.

BTW..after any merger or takeover by a new owner, the #1 goal is to reduce cost of the company being acquired. The quickest way to reduce cost is.....yup, laying off employees.
This is very dependent on the reason for the purchase and the type of company. If it is a manufacturing company and they flat-out have too many workers -- one way to streamline could be to cull excess workers, of course. You are correct if the the goal is to streamline it and resell it at a profit. But not necessarily the case if the reason is just because a company is seen as having potential long-term or having some issues you can easily fix. You may want to bring your own management team in to turn things around, for example. But if there is not an excess of workers -- there may not be a need to lay off.

Elon Musk is enraging the left through humor and truth, and I love it.
AOC: “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special
Elon: “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy”

Purging the corrupt wokers and cultural Marxist that infest Twitter is reason #1 to buy the company. Reason #2 would be to move the headquarters out of CA.
Someone call 911. There's a dumpster fire @1355 Market St in the Twitterloin!
Relax. I'm unvaxxed!
