.....says "the real president is whoever controls the teleprompter."
"I do feel like if somebody were to accidentally lean on the teleprompter, it's going to be like Anchorman," the CEO added, referencing the 2004 film in which Ron Burgundy reads whatever is written on the teleprompter, even if it would ruin his career.

Musk, who said he has voted "overwhelmingly for Democrats," slammed the Democratic Party and Biden in particular. He suggested that Biden is something of an empty suit.
This administration doesn't seem to get a lot done," Musk said. "The Trump administration, leaving Trump aside, there were a lot of people in the administration who were effective at getting things done."
He also claimed that the Democratic Party is "overly controlled by the unions and by the trial lawyers, particularly the class action lawyers." He argued that when Democrats go against "the interests of the people," it tends to come from the unions and the trial lawyers, while when Republicans do that, "it's because of corporate evil and religious zealotry."
"In the case of Biden, he is simply too much captured by the unions, which was not the case with Obama," Musk said. The Tesla CEO defended Obama as "quite reasonable," but insisted that Biden prioritizes the unions ahead of the public.
The Tesla CEO also weighed in on founder 's claim that the has resorted to "misdirection" in order to "muddy the topic" of inflation.
So it's like the government can't just, you know, issue checks far in excess of revenue without there being inflation, you know, velocity of money held constant," the Tesla CEO argued. "If the federal government writes checks, they never bounce. So that is effectively creation of more dollars. And if there are more dollars created, then the increase in the goods and services across the economy, then you have inflation, again, velocity of money held constant."
The Tesla CEO also weighed in on Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's claim that the White House has resorted to "misdirection" in order to "muddy the topic" of inflation.
"I mean, the obvious reason for inflation is that the government printed a zillion amount of more money than it had, obviously," Musk said, echoing Republican critics who claim that Biden's American Rescue Plan COVID-19 relief stimulus bill contributed to the near-40-year-high inflation the U.S. experienced in April.

Trust me -- he is not. Folks just like to say that. He also did not have a clue what he was doing. He was another teleprompter puppet.

@Raiders22
I love Elon but of course he is against unions. He wants everyone working 20 hours a day for $2 an hour like in China. Again, I love Elon. He's made me more than you would believe. I got in on Tesla early because he moved into a just closed Toyota plant just south of my hometown. That plant provided good jobs for years. I almost worked there. It was a blow to the region when Toyota moved out. Elon slid right in and kept those guys working. He's an absolute genius and has many great ideas on a multitude of subjects but when you start talking about how we need to be more like China, as it pertains to manufacturing, you lose me. Unions are good. The only people that will have you believe otherwise are employers. Elon is not exactly the most impartial.

So, I don’t get that from him at all. I have met and talked to him 4-5 times.
To make a long story longer. I ran into a young guy at the gym that works for SpaceX. I deal with a lot of NASA-industry folks with some of what I do and this young guy is a great example of how charismatic, or whatever you like to call it, Musk is.
I know the situation some of the young talent is in right now. So, I asked the guy had he considered going to Blue Origin — because a lot of young people are for money, mainly.
He is going to Med School. So, he is part of their human exploration recovery medical team, etc.
He met Musk a while back and was telling him how he was going into medicine because he was not liking calculus but always liked engineering. Musk then asked had he ever considered getting into rockets? Guy says he had no idea they needed medical stuff.
Long story — but Musk offered him a job on the spot while he is waiting to get into Med School.
He says Blue Origin has approached him and offered (don’t want to really say his numbers) but like 40% more. He says he turned them down because he likes the path where he is and what SpaceX is doing. He gets to stay around rockets and do medical work for them.
So, my question to him was if he was hurting himself financially on the backend? Wouldn’t he make more at a hospital or in private practice?
He says, no, not at all. His medical supervisors are making right in line with surgeons pay and after Medical School he will be making very good money.
Then he says that they are getting the stock options if/when they go public are huge. They are also getting in on the Spacelink deal as well.
It was a lengthy conversation. But it is a prime example of how the guy is to everyone. I know a few others that have stories about him like that. But this one to me was really the best one. Because you could tell this guys was super excited about his work and future.

Absolutely, he wants production and pushes. But he pays and rewards for it.
He genuinely has always seemed down to earth to me. I really feel he is not driven for the money at all. I have know a lot of guys in his situating that are all about the money and the power. He really seems to give his engineers and executives a lot of latitude.
So, I think with the union thing, it is not about the money with him. He just wants to get things done. You can tell how driven he is. He does not want extra regulations and things holding him back. I think that was a big part of trying to leave California, etc.
I do not think he want to be like China in the sense of paying $2.00/ hour at all. He just sees some of the waste and hassle that the unions do present for a company. They can absolutely stifle a company. But that is a different issue and not my point.
But you are right — absolute genius, for sure.

@THEMUGG
Right, like he sees it but I would say his judgement/immaturity isn't something I would cheer.
I'd rather see him running his car & space companies rather than his mouth.

He’s arguably the smartest guy in the world.
Lets compare the resumes of Elon vs the people you’re quoting and listening to.

Athletes and entertainers support a leftist cause —> that’s great and it’s freedom of speech!
Smartest guy in the world opposes leftist policies —> run your companies not your mouth!

Musk is a loud mouth attention seeking dope. He is not the smartest guy in the world, he is in the Mark Cuban luckiest guy group..his company without 15 yrs of FED ZIRP would not exist and that is a fact. If you look at early years for TSLA they were selling nasty toxic convert debt to fund cash needs, highly dilutive awful terms and then the FED changes the corporate debt landscape and TSLA survives.
Lets see how Musk does going forward, to me he is too focused on attention and not to his business, his product is marginal and he is not focused on the next five years in developing his technology and being lazy and sloppy as he is, I would bet TSLA is really going to struggle with higher debt costs and a dwindling competitive advantage. It is a solid comment that he needs to quit with tangent adventures and improve his business while he still has a chance.

I dislike people who dump on others just to make themself feel better, that is Musk. Also the game is not over, thus far he has been fortunate but unless he starts being a CEO and stops being a media idiot that could easily change.

Please report, we need to build longer tables, with democrats and republicans of good will coming together to keep building our democracy! But to finger point Democrats for hate…well, obviously you’ve been hacked." tweeted by the great humanitarian Jose Andres
