Another terrible take by WSC. This guy might be the biggest hater of all time
He can't elaborate wallstreet,remember these are the same guys that believe trump is a stable genius,and that he was smart because his uncle went to MIT.

How many people are actually going to libraries these days, aside from those connected to Universities? When was the last time you were in a library? As far as Teslas, flags are more of a truck thing. Doesn't mean there aren't Trump supporters driving Teslas. Teslas aren't really cars for adornment. I've never seen a Biden bumper sticker on a Tesla either. I know quite a few Tesla owners. Most would fall in the democrat/liberal lane but three are Trump supporting republicans. Two in Oregon. One in California.

Elaborate I shall. Have you ever agreed or liked a stock pick from someone on this site? Maybe once or twice but I’ve never seen it. You just tell whomever posted it why you think it’s a bad idea. I’ve never seen you actually post a stock top on here either. Basically you just threaten to ban people.
Now you call one of the smartest and richest guys on the planet a dope. What have you done in your life that qualifies you look down on everyone else besides becoming a salty ass mod on a Gambling forum. You sir, are a hater

I have never seen him like a stock now that I think of it. He has hated TSLA the entire time it has gone up 50x. Now it will pull back a little with the market and he’ll say, “I told you — he should have been focusing on his company instead of running his mouth”.
Peter Schiff and Bitcoin is the same thing. He has been saying how stupid Bitcoin is, it offers no value, and it’s going to zero since bitcoin was $10. Instead of buying bitcoin at $10 he bought gold at $1500 oz. Now Bitcoin is $30,000 and gold is $1800 and he tweets as if he was right because bitcoin went from $60k to $30k.

The guy is light years ahead of anyone else with electric cars, solar power, space travel, and bringing the internet to remote places (basically the most important things in the 21st century) … he points out the obvious when it comes to progressives and their response is, “geee willickers what a moron that guy is”.

Never thought about it until now. Do not think I have even seen a bumper sticker on any Tesla, even an older one.

A hater....wow that hurts my feelings I guess from your slanted view it means I am going to ban you right?
I take issue with abusive people who put others down to build themselves up, it is the sign of a little ego and a horrible person. I dont care that Musk got lucky and rode the FED gravy train, and Id rather be lucky than good of course but he is a jerk and a dope. When you abuse people as he does then who cares if he has more money than me, I could care less.
As to stock discussion, we used to have it in depth and it was a great forum, that is why we created it but then a few people started wrecking it so it has turned something good into something not as good. When people hunt each other down to insult and attack an investment as some here do it is a disincentive for discussion, I am not interested in discussing topics and stocks that some here will not be respectful and have conversation, and we are not forced to do so. I use discord for my stock discussion and that is much more productive than Covers as to the quality of interaction and investment intelligence.

So Musk got lucky when he created PayPal and changed the way money can be transferred online? That's luck huh? I guess the guy is just lucky with his innovations. If you want to say he got lucky from the FED with TSLA, you can also say everyone in the US got "lucky" during covid. Only now everyone is repaying that "luck" in the form of inflation. "InFlAtIoN iS a GrEaT aSsEt" - bIdEn
Is TSLA getting lucky because the gov't (specifically in CA) is forcing electric cars on everyone?Has the gov't created electiic cars, or battery storing, or satellite internet for rual areas? I guess Musk is just lucky he's one of the first.
What about Bezos, is he now a jerk because he called out the Biden admin? He just got a 10 billion dollar bail out for Blue Origin which is a Musk competitor. Why does Bezos need a bailout? His amazon stock is still higher than the start of covid. Maybe the gov't knows his stock is about to tank (actually has already started)

@BigGame90
His wealth came from TSLA, that is the luck portion. If you ask Mark Cuban he will ADMIT he got lucky, if BCST did not get bot from Yahoo it goes under inside of two years and his empire is gone. There is nothing wrong with getting lucky, Musk rode the coattails of ZIRP, if you look back to the first part of the stock history they were doing awful convert deals. In reality if Fisker had the debt market that Musk had he would have survived, same goes for BK Boy Trump, his hotels do not go under multiple times if ZIRP was in play.
Why is it so difficult to just admit that Musk built TSLA off ZIRP? The entire industry does not thrive without ZIRP from the little players to speculative parts providers etc etc...its the function of cheap cash. Same goes for marginal frackers, with low low rates the small player who is risk heavy can survive. Musk got lucky, his product is not all that great and his competitive advantage is shrinking, he is not a great innovator and he is getting sloppy with his tech investment into self driving, others are passing him by and that PE multiple is quite frothy even with a 50% drop in stock price.

Also unlike TSLA, AMZN DID do nasty convert deals for many years to fund losses, AMZN survived the 2002 crash and came out of it without ZIRP, but for sure their massive growth was fueled from cheap debt but they were going to make it irregardless of ZIRP or not, they had crossed over and were on their way.
All of the lovely stuff Musk has done is a function of his TSLA war chest, without TSLA and its share price he does not do all the things you credit him for and Solar City goes under too. Why is it so painful just to admit that Musk is a smug little ego jerk who got lucky? He isnt the first as we well know and he wont be the last.
Most companies who are enormous built their business off an advantage, Walmart did, Amazon did, most any large corp got where they were from some sort of advantage vs others trying to do the same thing. Musk is just a lousy person, he treats people poorly and that is my biggest issue.

You can also say every other company that rode this bull wave for the last 12 years can be attributed to ZIRP. Musk just maybe took the largest leap. He's also in the market for what the gov't is pushing. Must be nice to be wanted by the gov't and their unlimited (cough cough) spending.
I have my own thoughts about how amazon got so big and how they crushed small businesses (yes, fast shipping is great, but it comes at an expense). I don't think amazon got to where it's at because of honest business practices. You probably know all about their ways with the market and how they acquired their market share, but that's for a whole new thread.
Solar city was a dog shit company before Musk (not too sure about their product nowadays but before Musk they did a shit job). Most homes with solar don't have a high ROI. People just believe they are saving the environment when getting solar. Sure, some parts of the US are excellent for solar, but a large majority of the US is not a great place for solar. The cost to install vs the savings usually doesn't make sense for most home owners unless you're home all day using electricity or you have a battery storage. Nobody usually looks into what it takes to make "clean energy" but if they did, they'd realize it's not that great at preserving the environments. Plus, panels doe not last 50 years, so the install/ removal/ cleaning usually eats away at profits.

That is true, solar done wrong is a bad investment and most are not motivated to research how to do solar correctly (or not at all).
I did solar 11 yrs ago and it has been OUTSTANDING, but I did not use an outfit like SolarCity I researched myself and bot the panels myself, the micros myself I hired an electrician firm myself and saved tons and learned tons. My panels are producing the same as they were 11 yrs ago, my micros have a 20 yr warranty and Enphase is top notch for identifying issues and sending me new ones if they break. Ive paid back my "cost" several times over and they are still producing. In fact I need to get my butt up to my roof and swap out a micro that is not doing so hot.
Yes you are right AMZN profited off smashing the brick and mortar, Walmart did the same thing, Microsoft smashed the little guy all of that is true.
In the end if the government MUST subsidize something Id rather it be clean energy than righting an Ologopoly and feeding the oil industry. Id rather focus on expanding the grid and building solar farms, expanding battery technology and focus on where we need to be in 20 yrs right now.

Maybe the "war" has apart of this ideology...?
Glad to hear solar worked for you. Putting in the research seems to be the way. Large solar corps need to make their profits too which is likely why solar doesn't make sense for most. They can promise these huge returns, but from people I've spoke with, the returns are not close to what they were promised, or the cost to install is just to much and it takes 12-15 years just to recoup the purchase price. Leasing is just a terrible way to go.

@BigGame90
There are variables most do not understand like roof orientation and obstruction, and most big solar firms put in cheap central inverters with a 5 yr warranty that has panels on a long string so if there are any shading or obstruction issues it zaps an entire string where micros is panel to panel and no issues with partial shading. The price per watt BEFORE incentives needs to be less than 1.50 per watt INSTALLED to make sense, my payback was likely 6 yrs and my orientation is perfect and I saved tons doing the leg work myself. I have 42 panels in my array and my only wish is that I could have put up higher wattage panels to maximize the footprint I have, but I only have 225 watt panels those were being liquidated when Evergreen went under but now you can get 280 watt panels with the same size as mine but that would have been a 30% higher output with the same footprint.
Education is everything and nobody knows how to properly consider if solar makes sense and its kind of terrible that the state I live in does not give incentives for residential solar, in fact residential solar owners actually have to fight against the power companies and the state to get it done.

Just think, what if every home went to solar over night. Why would power companies stay in business? Feeding the grid is basically taking away the need for power companies, but the power companies maintain the grid. Solar is great, but the infrastructure is still decades away from full support. As with all new innovations, only the rich can afford it out of the gate. It takes time to weave in. I am all for cleaner energy, but IMO this amid and the left side of the gov't is pushing too much and could be destroying the economy in doing so. Maybe they have more incentive with "clean energy" and not oil, and they want their cut and seems to be willing to destroy the economy in that search for "clean energy" profits/business. That's just my opinion and we all know opinions can be wrong. Well, unless your big tech censoring based on opinions, those are always right.
Putting in your own work always pays off just like doing your own research.

I'm sure solar works great in AZ........not so much up here. OTOH, we have cheap hydro power, which appears to slowly be waving bye-bye to the SW.

@THEMUGG
Population growth down here is going to make it worse, which makes me question how that dummy in office Ducey does not make it a huge priority to get solar ramped up here. The utilities fight with homeowners instead of seeing the value in creating excess capacity which feeds back into the grid and to other close houses. When I produce more than I consume it feeds backwards into the meter and to other houses in my neighborhood. Its going to get worse here yet the party in control shows zero interest in developing residential use, rather gives freebies to corps and to the utility companies. Hydro is not consistent even if things swing back the other way, yet it does not seem to be a priority at all.

I'm amazed at how the Phoenix area has exploded. I had about a 10 year gap between visits, & was shocked flying into PHX. I've a buddy that's going to move to Tucson & he's trying to convince me to do the same. I love AZ, & I likely only have about 20-25 years left, but seeing what LK. Mead looks like right now is cause for hesitation.
A pipeline needs to be built from my back yard to Phoenix.......that would make a big dent in the water issues.....for both parties.
