the yield is not allegedly increased, it most certainly is...though i am not a propent of such. But how else will you feed the ever invreasing masses with the ever decreasing tillable acreage??
If i am remembering right, Alabama comes into play on the first of the month. They will suffer the same fate (feel quite sure it is already happening) Illegals are indoctrinated into the fabric of our nation and were quite some time ago. To think or wish (which i must admit i do) differently will not address the issue as we should. But i don't have the answers

It is really hard to come up with the answers, These are minimum wage jobs where you have to work really hard. A person from another country is motivated to do a minimum wage job because it is a lot more money then they can make in this country. An american really doesn't gain anything by taking one of these jobs when they can receive almost as much collecting unemployment.
Also there seems to be less high school kids taking these jobs like my friends and I did when we were in high school. I am not sure why that is. I don't think it is all because they are lazy. The seems the summer break is shorter, if you play sports there are a lot of club teams in the off seasons, you almost have to play on the club teams if you want to compete.
Maybe part of it is money doesn't go as far as it used to. When I was in high school and made minimum wage I could buy 4 gallons of gas with 1 hour of work (now it is more like 2 - 2 1/2 gallons) It only took 3 - 4 hours to buy a concert ticket or a ticket to an NBA game.

A few things
"low paying jobs" While 7$-8$ an hour may be "low" to some it may be quite High for another.
All farm labor is not "hard work" At some will you do somethin that causes you to sweat a lil? you bet! My first job was picking peas when i was 11. Mostly this is still done by hand so yeah you gone have a sore back and hands at the end of the day. But this is seasonal, its not like its a job you do 24/7 all year long.
While this new bill is gone hurt alot of my friends and neighbors it is a step in the right direction for this great state and our country as a whole.
Chemicals Thats right yall... lets do away with them all.
We'll just eat tree bark and bird shit If you want to be chemical free you best find you a remote island to move to. Because Chemicals are used in EVERYTHING! 95% of what you own and use daily was aided by a chemical in some form or fashion.

no one is saying to get rid of chemicals. no one is saying chemicals don't serve a purpose to some people on this planet by giving them extra access to food, although much less healthy food. in fact, we've all said the opposite.
in any case, when you have choices, learning about food and what is done to your food isn't a bad thing. and if you decide you don't want to consume dangerous chemicals day after day after day or give them to your kids day after day after day, you can just eat bark and bird shit like i can only assume they do in rural georgia (although be careful, some trees are also sprayed with similar chemicals), but an alternative might be to travel to a bigger city like atlanta or savannah and explore fruit and vegetables options that are not treated with dangerous and unhealthy pesticides/chemicals or at least are treated with much fewer of them.

If healthy food is truly your concern then why travel anywhere?
Get a lil dirt under your nails and grow your own.
Any dumbass can do it....well any dumbass thats willing to work a lil. Which is few and far between these days.
What chemical is used on peanuts grown in GA that would concern you?

we do grow some of our own. i handle the fruits- grapefruit, oranges, lemons, pomegranite and the wife handles the vegetables. i'm not sure exactly what she has in there.
i don't know what chemicals are sprayed on peanuts in georgia.
as to the other question, i found this about florida. of course, you don't have to worry as much about a product protected by a hard shell like peanuts.
Effective insect management depends on a combination of cultural and chemical practices. Insecticide products commonly used on peanut include phorate, chlorpyrifos, aldicarb, methomyl, esfenvalerate, cyhalothrin, and carbaryl (11,12). The use of systemic insecticides helps to eliminate the need for additional foliar insecticide sprays, unless pests such as worms or mites become a problem late in the season. Systemic insecticides are applied in furrow at the time of planting. Granular formulations are applied with a special row-type granular applicator that can be calibrated to deliver proper rates. Other insecticides/miticides registered for use on peanut in Florida in 2007 were: acephate, azadirachtin, cyfluthrin, diflubenzuron, disulfoton, fenpropathrin, indoxacarb, propargite, pyrethrins +/- rotenone, spinosad, sulfur, and zeta-cypermethrin.
