    @Raiders22

     I was commenting on the nature of the discussion..... it reminded me of this historical quote by the epic character, Anton Chigurh

    “If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?”
    -C.McCarthy

    There are many people since last Tuesday that need to ask themselves that same question and re-evaluate their thinking.

     Maybe a few have.  But, overwhelmingly, the majority have not and will not.

    didn't Biden sign like 125 executive orders in his first week, no legislative review as that is untouchable

    So, who was the Dictator on Day 1??

    Does anyone on the Left want to defend these actions?

    Most of which were to dismantle Trump's executive actions on illegal immigration. Yet the democrats would have you believe there's nothing to see here. Nobody tackles illegal immigration. That it just is what it is.

    @StumpTownStu

     Complete truths...he spent most of his time in the first days reversing what Trump had in place and immigration was a big one which assisted in opening the flood gates....

    I suspect, we may see something similar from Trump as well in an effort to reverse what Biden did....

    This is where the Presidency takes a turn for the worse as time is spent reversing things a previous administration put in place which takes away time for other matters to be addressed...this is the cycle we have created....

It is a copout to try to say that they could simply lose their job, get kicked out of the military, or not get educated -- just to claim they still had freedom. This is simply factual and not even open to discussion.  It happened. Oh contraire mujere, you need to comprehend the quote you made rather than stomp your feet at what IMPACTS means. Nobody lost their choices or option to follow or not. Impacts means there are costs and benefits associated with a decision. If people lost their jobs because they refused a corporate based mandate or government based mandate that is their choice. Just because a mandate might seem unfair or cruel as in this case, people still have the ability and option to decide. There are corporate mandates every single day of the year, people have to follow codes, protocols and requirements..you act like this mandate is the only of its kind in society, people never lost the right and ability to choose. I had a job in Philly years back and the company decided to move locations to consolidate several sites to one and for me that meant the mandate to either drive a much longer distance and pay a city wage tax and parking and gas and time or I could decide to leave, well I decided to leave and went and found a different job. Not all that tough of a concept here.

@Rush51

     So I should have blamed a politician when I did not accept a mandate and looked for another job? Gotcha..

    We live in a society where things might not be fair or what we like and while I was not a fan of hard mandates at the time because the vacccc was not properly trialed and tested (I voiced that here and some of y'alllll got pretty ticked which is a shock lol) that does not mean I blame a politician for the choice being made which at the time BOTH SIDES went forward with the guidelines and yes people did have to make choices and yes people STILL had their choices to make.

    Just like this last year there are corps that forced a return to the office after the remote situation which was in place for a few years, did some of those employees refuse and decide to look for other work? Of course...just keep some balance and try not to be so extreme with your analysis.

    Yes... A politician (or a bureaucrat running one of those government agencies (like the CDC)) should not have been telling workers they will lose their job unless they get vaxxed !  ....  Particularly when the data was realized that the vax didn't reduce the spread of the disease.   So, what was the point ?

    Look it, this country (and so did many others) did a lot of bad things during the pandemic.  Like sacrificing the rights of the individual in favor of what was (perceived to be) for the betterment of the community..  Read that again.

    Do you know what societies (in more normal times) favor the rights of the "community", instead of the "individual?"  I already gave you a clue with the last point of my previous post.  peace_5
